An exhaust clamp, 1/2 inch all threads and a small plate and I have a roof rack hi lift mount.
I love projects that use old supplies lying around.

 

That’s sweet! Where was your hi lift before?

 

It was in place of my rear seat bases. I had made mounts that utilized the seat mounting holes.
It was a good way to keep the weight low and I'll still mount it there for normal commuting to keep it out of the weather and prevent theft. But now I have the option to get it out of the interior when I need interior space.

yea, let some air outta your tires.

 

Dude the seat lift mod helps so much. I did it more because I'm short and the visibility in the Tacoma has a lot to be desired. Side effects were much more comfortable on longer rides no more sore back, a-pillar isn't as big of a blind spot and my legs don't get as cramped up like they use to.

 

Seriously though, there is a mod to raise them. But I have not seen one to lower them. I wanted to raise the front of mine and lower the back. Some guys just use spacers and longer bolts to raise them. Not even sure it's possible to lower them. Let me know what you find out Jerry.
