AZTaco77 Thanks for the info. I plan on running it on the highest setup and add a 1 inch block in the rear. Hopefully that will clear my tire setup.

I am a newb to lifting trucks. How can you lift this if the shocks don't already provide a lift? I want to by these shocks, but I don't I would also like to add an inch or two in height.

They have levels you can setup similar to the Bilsteins. Medium, Level and Heavy Accessories

How much of a "Minimal" Lift did it give? 1", 1.5", 2"?

Is it possible to use a different coil spring for a 2" lift like the OME 886-887's?

JAL what I have been told when contacting Falcon Shocks is that Med is around a inch and Level is 2 inches and Heavy Acc is 2 inches with a front bumper or winch setup. I do not have and heavy accessories and was told I should get around 2.25 of a lift. I cant claim this to be true yet because I have not installed them but when I do I will use the heavy acc setup. As far as the OME springs I have no idea if that will work. 20180713_093550.jpg

So the kit does provide a lift? From watching the Falcon promotional material on Youtube, I was under the impression that it was only to provide better performance at the stock height and provide leveling.

One thing that concerns me about the stock OR shocks is that they get extremely hot after about 20-30 minutes on a rocky trail (traveling at 20-30mph).

I drove on a few less technical and higher speed trails in Reno, and I thought the shocks were going to explode or give out.

Spoke to TeraFlex on Friday about these Falcon shocks.

Guy I spoke to said these shocks were specifically designed to work with the stock platform (coils, leafs, UCAs, etc.).

He said not to exceed 1” above stock height in rear. He suggest a spacer if anything.

Just picked up installed today from my local shop San Diego.

Ride is excellent and I’m fully leveled out. I’ll be heading to the desert this weekend to hit some washes.

When I spoke to Falcon/ TeraFlex, the gentleman I spoke to said that if I wanted to run 285s, to add a 1” spacer in rear then set the front to the highest setting. He said the taco in their promo video had 285s with the above mentioned block and front setting. He said they did have to trim the front a little but it was very minimal (they used a razor blade from what he told me). Anything more than 1” in the rear over stock wouldn’t have enough travel for these shocks.

It’s perfect for me because I’m a weekend warrior. Not in the market for a full blown system at this point. I want a better ride, larger tires and more confidence pushing my DD on trails.

Just to round out this quick overview, for right around $2K you can be fully leveled with another 1” of lift in the tank if you choose. It’s a better ride and I’m anticipating great comfort and confidence on the trails and camping trips I’ll be taking.

These pics are just so everyone can see them installed. I’ll get better ones up soon.

    Cheers!

I'm very interested now that I know they are local to UT. EDITED as I researched while typing, and it looks like they're advertising these as made by Teraflex, and to go to the place just southwest of me by Mountainview corridor (5 min drive). Maybe I need to go check this out myself when it comes time for upgrades.

I saw these at the UTOR Expo as well. They felt stout, and their demo truck looked good with them.

Looks good, are you doing wheels and/or tires at this point?

TacoMilk I'm still running stocks until I get the front completed. But I am going to run Black Rhino shrapnel 20x9.5 -18 on 275/55/20 Ridge Grapplers

You won't find any shocks that fit in the stock mounting location that will be long enough to take advantage of the full droop. Maybe you would, but then you would have to add bump stop spacers like i did on my first gen.

To match the added droop with the softer/longer Dakars, you need a longer shock, and they just don't fit without a relocation like the one from BAMF or Total Chaos.

Did you put the shock on backwards? The shin guard isn't doing much facing the rear, and the resi should face the rear as well. Unless this is a design thing? I could be wrong.
