I'm not doubting what you say but I did the same mod and my low beams are fine. Maybe some LEDs are more compatible with projector lenses then others.
    I used OSLAMP LEDs

I am almost certain you're right because I know other people have done it as well and been happy with it. And yes, I used inexpensive ALla 80w 6000k LEDs. Gotta say, they're great in the foglights though, so no complaints there. I'll look into the OSLAMPs for future headlight upgrade. Thanks

Update: The iOttie dash mount for a phone is a no go on the 3rd gen from the looks of it. There is just enough of an bend in the dash to let air in and break the seal so it won't stay in position.

Looks like replacing the stock headunit is getting more and more convincing! I've already replaced everything else and built a custom box like you did but have been afraid to loose the clean look of the factory screen!

Some waterproof fabric, a Comercial style or heavy duty sewing machine and some stainless steel snaps and some intestinal fortitude and you should be in business. If you want it bad enough and put your mind to it you can do anything.:thumbsup:
    Go for it!

You might need to spend a little extra on the H11 LEDs to get the desired results. Somewhere in the $82 range. That's how much mine cost. They are designed to work with our projector beam lights. They are adjustable as well so they work in the high beams too.

Here they are (pics below) on a road up near my house in the woods with no street lights.

Low Beams only, no fogs or DRLs.

    20180601_223628.jpg

Here is what it looks like from the same position with the Low Beams and High Beams on.

    20180601_223633.jpg

That curve in the road is a bridge culvert and is over 300' away.

There is a great thread on this LED subject and I have a link to my full review on these bulbs in my signature. As a comparison, GTR Gen 3 LEDs will run you $200 a pair. You can have them done at any shop that sells them, both lows and high for about $500 total out the door. Or you can spend about $170 and buy the Xenon Depot Pro LEDs and do it yourself in under 2 hours (which includes refilling your beverage or getting beers from the fridge).

Plus you get great customer service from @XenonDepot via phone or here on the forum.
