I love Toyota of Cedar Park. I bought mine from Charles Maund, their service department sucks! Cedar Park has been great since I started using them. Plus they wash your truck every time you go for service!

Tell me about it, Round Rock sucks the taint. Last time I took it in for a inner dash rattle, it turned into a 2 day hayday with a rental and constant verdicts of: suspension and frame mods bla bla bla. Who writes on the final papers, sound is from aftermarket upper control arms and frame modifications (cab chop.) Bitches do.

We used to have the Optima Yellow tops in all the ambulance and brush trucks, had very little problem with them, and they work great for solar trickle charging. The red tops however, constantly leaked, and the side post always got stripped or the battery bolt would just start coming loose and falling out/arcing. Not great for a fire truck sitting in the station. Lol.

I've heard complaints of the glove box rattle on 3rd gens from people that don't have any mods. Mine was doing it so I just put on new exhaust and cranked the stereo up

That is where I am going to be taking my truck for its first service. Toyota of Round Rock is closer, but they all seem to be just calling it in, nobody seems to want to be at work in there. Other than the salesmen at Cedar Park I was impressed by their service garage, and facility in general. Toyota Boerne had a great facility with fireplaces, leather chairs, free drinks, and a mini mall, but that's just too damn far to go for an oil change / tire rotation.

Btw anyone have any input, (as if I need to ask THAT question in here), I have a fog lamp that burned out, I want to replace with either blue tint bulbs or a super white led.

    And GO!

Think I'm done with Optima's for now. The price is gettin' mighty close to Odyssey Betteries & for me it's twice the battery come Winter.

I ended up getting a Duralast Gold because it was cheap and had a 5 year warranty. Oh well. Hopefully the Taco doesn't break on its own again before I have the chance to break it myself

After working at Charles Maund for over 3 years, I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. They break shit tons of laws on a daily basis. Their service advisers not only make money off commission, they are fired if they don't hit extremely aggressive floor numbers. Even working in inventory I felt like one day we'd be raided and i'd be arrested and not know wtf happened. We got fined by the state for exploiting customers all the time, but they make so much money they'd rather just pay the fines and keep ripping people off

Toyota of Killeen seems to be a mix between old dudes with great attitudes and new guys with no experience in the Service Department. I still get great service there, but the labor rate sucks. The parts guys there are awesome and I've had almost no interaction with their sales department. Overall, I'd say they're good, just expensive. I do most my own work anyways... minus welding and special equipment like alignments and such. I was a service tech at Saturn in North Carolina for several years after trade school and before the Army, so I do 90% of the work on the truck myself. I need to learn motorcycles lol

Edit: On the topic of batteries, I used to run only Optima batteries. I had a buddy that wrecked the corner of his Jetta and he had a Yellow-top. He lost two cells and that thing would still start every time and not dim the lights with his subwoofer.

The dealer scratched my tailgate up with a wash and the service advisor tried to tell me it was from my dogs.

    Who are 12" tall.

And how the hell would they scratch the middle of my tailgate, anyway?

    Nah, they're little cuties.

The advisor kept telling her manager "it couldn't have been the wash, the scratches aren't in the pictures". I don't know if every dealer takes photos before service to document existing damage, but the lady could not understand why the scratches weren't in the photos... but were on the truck

    You can't fix stupid.

The last tires I purchased at Sam's were for my 1.5 ton dually. I told the salesperson what tires I wanted on there. Came back 2 hours later, and said well these tires are cheaper and fit your vehicle. I said no I want the Load Range E steel side walls, not Load C polyester sidewalls. They are not tough enough. He argued with me for 30 minutes before the manager was brought over by a coworker. I explained the weight the truck would not allow the poly tires, he said they put them on 1 ton trucks, "ALL THE TIME." So I said fine, put them on and let's see what happens. After 40 minutes to mount all 4 tires and rebolt on the axle, they dropped the truck down as I watched all 4 tires pancake and the rims almost touch the floor. Then looked at them and said, that is why I told you to put on the steel sidewalls. Now, do what I asked for.

To make it better, when they started to lift the truck again, the right inner tire blew a hole in the side wall.
    I never went back again.
