i have hills like that too. noticed it more with 1.04 vs stock tune.

TSB update seems to have fixed it completely. my guess mat can take it even further with 1.05 and lock down improved shift logic.

cruise control still sucks though. to me, it's always been to aggressive to down shift to 4th.

 

It seems like CC wants to hold the speed EXACTLY at speed . There should be a parameter to set it in the tune to let it vary up or down a couple mph going up and down hills etc.. I do not know if there is one but there should be .

Why? That’s not what CC is designed to do.

 

I equate it to the CC being a new driver who only knows how to floor it or have 0 throttle at all... trying to hold a speed on an incline up a hill has caused it to go all the way down to 3rd on occasion. The same hill with my foot would likely stay in 5th or shift to 4th on those steeper ones. CC is just too aggressive to downshift to 4th and 3rd.

Yes, and I am pretty sure you don't need Techstream in order to install the TSB update from Toyota. The CUW file launches into a program which contains the tune file. I will be trying this afternoon...

2019-2020 Toyota RH8 based ECU has now been cracked.

 

Are y'all doing the tsb yourselves or taking it to a dealer? Dealers in my area refuse to do the tsb claiming it doesn't exist for my vin (a lie) or telling me they wont do it because its a salvage title. If you're doing it yourself, please send me a pm so I can pick your brain regarding how to.

I did the flash myself using only my laptop, tactrix OBDII to USB cable, and the CUW file for the update. Took less than 8 mins...

 

Letting it idle for a while and I'll be going for a spin.

 

And now your calibration id changed? Is it just as easy to get back to the previous calibration if you had those CUW files?
