On the heels of the " Why are Tacomas called Tacomas" thread, I thought it might be interesting to compare what have been some of the coolest and best fitting names with what have been the worst or just plain wrong names.

    Plain cool.......Lamborghini Diablo

    Plain silly....Reneault LeCar

I used to have a Pontiac Vibrator, until it ran into a Ford Clitaurus....you should have seen the fluids running out everywhere!! Luckily the female driver had a Probe on hand to finish the journey home.

too bad our stop country won't let us have the Toyota Hilux here. You can buy them in Canada and Mexico, but not US.
Its a diesel cross between tacoma, tundra, hummer, and tank (no joke)
Apparently they aren't allowed here in the states because the frame is so solid, that it wouldn't crumble, just destroy anything it ran into!
They use them on Antarctica expeditions.

THEY ARE BADASS, and my brother in law is in the process of seeing if he can buy one in Canada, then bring it here somehow.

The thing about car names that bothers me is this: Waht happened to imaginative car names? Mostly these days the names are sterile alphanumeric sequences. I want a cool name, not a password code.

Crap names: IS300, E220, G35 (also any made up word: Aztek, Altima)

Great car names: Fairlane 500 Skyliner, Eldorado Biarritz, Dynamic Super 88 Holiday

I guess I just like the way manufacturers named their cars in the 50s. Just seemed more imaginative.
