IMG_2506.jpg IMG_2503.jpg IMG_2504.jpg I installed all pro standard leaf springs last Christmas and they are already ready rusting. Less than 8,000 miles. I wash my truck pretty regularly (about every 2weeks) and made sure to wash it after any snow or salt on the roads. Am I wrong to think this should not be happening yet? And what's the remedy? Wire brush and rattle can? Is it worth contacting all pro? Thanks.

I know from living in MD that stuff they put on the roads there is harsh, I had to replace all brake calipers on our 4runner after leaving there. and my exhaust basically fell off of my Titan after 5yrs of living there, and it was new vehicle in 2007---we left in 2012...You may want to contact All Pro...but Id think a newly painted item would last longer than that.

Contacted All Pro. They said nothing they can do. Their 12 month warranty doesn't cover rust and said it was my responsibility to keep em oiled lol.

What does their sh*tty warranty cover?

Find some other way to break them that is covered? Cleaning that rust up is gonna suck because you would need to uninstall and disassemble every leaf

Their sh*tty warranty covers nothing... one of my packs was sagging bad after just a couple months, and all I got was the middle finger. Rust on leafs is fairly common though (when you live in the rust belt)... best just to clean them up best you can, spray a rust treatment, then some black rattle can. I usually go through twice a year and try to clean and touch up rust spots under the truck in general - once in late fall, then again in the spring.

My Alcan leaf packs rusted horribly in 2 years and I wash mine just about every week. Got the same reply "we don't cover rust".

Complain to your state and city...they are the ones that put salt and brine all over everything.
I live in one of the snowiest areas in the lower 48...no salt here. I dont understand why people put up with that crap!

I honestly don't think that's what it's from. I power washed it every time. The leaves are the only things that are rusty which leads me to believe it's crappy coating from All Pro

Problem is when you live somewhere with a lot of people where it snows alot, if they don't salt all the dumbasses on half bald all season tires will throw a shit fit.

So what? Fuck that nanny state bullshit. Like they can't fund healthcare or education but they can melt the snow for you?!? Bahaha

Salting roads is both expensive and an environmental disaster.

I totally agree, I hate that they salt.

But those of us that complain about it are a small minority to the droves who would bitch if they didn't. Squeaky wheel gets the grease and all.

What's the problem? It's not structural rust by a long shot and you can't really see it from outside.

If they're noisy than put some oil on them. Otherwise let steel be steel.

All your doing is blasting that salty water into all the nooks and crannys. Trust me I was born and raised in the midwest where they salted the hell out of the roads...going though a car wash just makes it worse. Best to leave rig outside frozen all winter. No warm garages or car wash water that is probably recycled and full of TONS of salt. Wash it real good at end of winter. Maybe look into fluid film.

Fluid film is the way to go . I drove on the beach about a month ago . In the water and everything . About a week later I was seeing the start of rust . I have a heavy duty ome leafpack set and when I put it on the lift I noticed it was starting to rust . I doused the undercarriage in FF and now the truck looks new again .. I even had someone notice how good it looked and said so. I bought a gallon and it didn't even take a 1/4 of the can to do the job . Gonna treat all my future vehicles now.

    No.
Engine heat, the hot cats and exhaust melt it every time you drive it.

I agree with you fluid film recommendation tho

Perhaps but I find it odd that the leaves are the only thing rusting. I purchased some fluid film a few weeks ago just waiting for it to stop raining for a few days here in Virginia.
