the width is what kills you. Due to how the contact pattern is on the ground you have the long side of the rectangle hitting forward if that makes sense. The KM2s to me are a great DD MT. But really if you don't use them for that much for offroading, likely not worth it. Also pretty quiet MT and certainly not the heaviest MT.

But getting out of an MT will be helpful for your needs.

Durtracs would be my recommendation. I don't love the ST maxxs really.

We're gonna rule out all of the tires if we play this game, they all have something to hide, they're big companies that want to make money. BFG has been covering up that their sidewalls are made of recycled sillyputty and paper mache for years. At least this was an RV tire and not something anyone here was using on their truck. It's on par with Firestones all terrain maypops from back in the day for sure, which banned a whole generation of Ford's from being allowed to tow haha

    Also Jalopnik... Really?

No I don't particularly care who the news comes from but I find Jalopnik to be weak source since being absorbed in 2016. Again it seems a lot like the already known to be poorly engineered but released anyway Firestone ATs from back in the 90s. And while I don't condone it I guarantee all the other brands are hiding something too, the market is just that fierce.

Also I'm surprised you mountaineered your way up a soap box, that's a first, usually my job haha

So the other end ujoint on the rear driveshaft is NOT the same size as the Cardin ujoint?
I have a ping noise when I let the clutch out and I checked the front and rear ujoints and
they all look fine. I guessing it’s from the Cardin joint. Toyota Dealer service man told me
the Cardin joint not replaceable because the drive shaft can’t be balance correctly even if you replace the Cardin ujoints because of the Toyota design. Said I needed a custom made new drive shaft to address the Cardin joint.
Said the Toyota design was not able to be balanced correctly even if the ujoints were replaced.

Took two days (because I've never done it before, I was doing it by myself and there was a wet hop IPA involved) but finally was able to get my semi-leaky valve cover gaskets replaced.

Here's the after, post simple green+pressure wash pic. No longer looks like I found it on the side of a dusty road in Baja:

At the beginning of taking things apart:

Back on without the ring of seeping oil and before the pressure wash:

A bit of rodent taste-testing on what I think is some vibration damping hunk of rubber attached to the intake:

Now that it's finished the next time I do this it will take only one day working at a relaxed, inefficient pace and with some adult beverage in the mix.

    Thanks for looking.
