I think the stock seat belt could be reused. I believe the part near the center console is attached to the floor pan. What makes me doubt that though is as the seat slides forward and back the belt geometry would be incorrect. But I'm sure new seats would be fitted for the seatbelts.

Changing anything that has to meet DOT specs is risky.

Including using the incorrect hardware for any of the mountings.

So after doing some searching the female end is indeed connected somehow, but I also found pics of people reusing them with aftermarket seats. So that’s something. Just haven’t looking into how.

I think each car or vehicle is different. For instance, there is not even enough room under my Lexus seats for the rear passengers toes, even bare feet. If I drop something into the carmuda triangle in there I have to get out and move the seat either all the way forward or back. The travel is like a foot total. I really think the female end is attached to the seat in there.

I want to say it's not like that in the Taco.

When we remodeled the living room I almost bought two of them from Costco. Best price I could find. I like the retro look and the quality construction but the comfort is what sells them.

Had one for years until the puppy destroyed it. Cheapest replacement I could find was about $800

:D I'm not that bad. I'm only 56! A lot of times I suffer from insomnia and fall into bed at like 2 am. Sucks getting up at 6 am.

Sounds about right. Where I was at. Those Herman Miller versions are insane. But anything HM is insane.

Ok, just how I remembered. Now this is a jeep but I bet a lot of vehicles are the same.

Here's what I was going off of and why I think they're attached to the seat. Plus when I removed my seats in my '15 I don't remember the buckle sticking around.
