I hate to take out the overload - worried I will need it when I fill the bed up with gravel or something heavy :)

Dakars with the overload removed, empty, is supposedly around 2". I am hoping the topper gets me down to 2" and then the front might be fine with the 7/6 setting vs 8/7.

I was hoping for a near stock height, without giving up any performance, but I am now wanting a little lift so it is easier to work underneath :)

If I removed the overload, I would feel better about going down to 7/6 or even 6/5.

    Ugh . . choices :)

Are the stock 6112 springs 600 lb for the extra cab? You would basically be taking care of SOME of the weight with upgraded springs and then some with settling, right?

I had no issue with doing AAL on the Tundra as the springs looked great. However, my rear Tacoma leafs look shot and I only have 124K miles :(

I think I am set on 8/7 front for 1.8" of lift and then full medium Dakar's on the back with the topper.

I guess if I ever get an ARB and winch for the front, I would be rebuilding anyway with probably a bigger spring and new setting. The rear would stay the same that way, as well.

Ummm, those will not fit the stock shock mounts in the rear, as they are a stud-type mount. Also hope you have the mounting bushings.

I have the TRD branded 5160s from the Pro kit. Reservoir shocks are always going to be better than an emulsion shock in terms of damping feel. I have a dakar pack that with no weight though so it's hard to tell how much impact they're having.

IMG_3386.jpg I ordered 5160 for the rear and still waiting for the 6112's to arrive. In the meantime I fabbed up a spring compressor for my hydraulic press. I assembled my friends 5100's on it. Its easy on the coils and relatively safe to use. Much better than my oem screw compressor..Can't wait for the 6112's to get her so I can get them ready to install.IMG_3393.jpg

the rear of the truck now knows what the hell its trying to do when it encounters rough patches around turns. So thats good.

I already have the kyb mounts ready to go.
Are you upgrading to the ecgs bushing?
I already have one waiting. Wanna do this at the same time I do the coil overs.
Update; received my order the other day from Racing Consultants now I need to get the time to get er done..hopefully soon.

On my last truck (2016 SR 2wd) I have the 6112 in the front and 5160 in the rear. The first thing I noticed was how much stiffer the suspension was on road. (In a good way) Where it really shined was when I took it off road. I could bomb through trails and have no worries with what I was driving through. I also added an aal in the rear since I had a little bit of extra weight. On my new truck I will be going the same route. To me its an affordable yet quality upgrade that will have longevity. I was also impressed how beefy the 6112 were. Highly recommend this setup

Yea did it a few weeks ago, was a bit of a pain on jacks with only 1 set of hands, had to call in some assistance to get that cv axle put back in.

Probably would have taken 1/3rd the time if I had 2 people to start off with.

I have this same kit ready to go in, but I am a little fuzzy on where the top plate spacer goes in. Its not built into the coil assembly, does it go on top of that or what? Sorry for the noob question thanks.

It's in the name. It goes on top of the coilover plate.

Right. So remove the three nuts and slide the plate on top. Just waant to be sure you dont have to release the spring from tension.

You got it. Yes, no disassembly of the coilover, it'd be more worth it to replace the spring by that point.

Great thank you, Sir. I had Headstrong assemble the units. I guess they dont mount the top plate because its an optional deal. You may or may not want to install it.

Another idiotic question. The coils aren't side specific are they?

No stupid questions brother. Glad you asked. Are you going to do UCA’s, bump stops and ECG needle bearing? I’m on the fence but leaning towards doing it. Just take a little more saving to get it all. Dang expensive project!!!

jba ucas edge bushing yes. No bump stops st this time. I went with the icon add a leaf for the rear. My springs are lame though and if th icons are insufficient I will go ahead and get squats and superbumps.
