How do you have it attached at the bottom and which model arm did you go with??

We took the tablet with us on our 1500 mile Michigan drive, and immediately regretted not having it mounted where i could see it. Downloaded the whole state and the GPS worked great, even had a lot of "seasonal" roads listed that were nothing more than a one lane trail cut through the woods. A very wise man said "Take the journey and figure out what you need as you go" so that's how i am trying to approach my build.

Yeah, i drilled 2 holes into the bed. I brought it closer to the tailgate cause I gotta give the doge some room near the window to stick his head in. The only trick is you gotta drill the holes in between the ribs of the bed. The brackets also have to be a lil modified.

Crazy that this place has driven the price up to $20. I'm pretty sure I paid $12 a few months aho

Couldn't be any happier with it so far. The contrast and clarity is unreal. OLED is the way to go these days.

I bolted it to the left pax side seat bolt. Pretty bomber when it is all torqued down. Gonna give it its first shakedown this weekend, but @G.T. did a good write up that convinced me on this setup. A techdeck was a VERY close second that I decided against for now...

That's what I'm concerned with. I know you CAN do it in 2 weeks, but you miss all of the side attractions. A friend of mine said the same thing. Take a month to do it right. Of course he is also a freelance A/V guy, so he has that luxury. I max out at 3 weeks off, so I may try and drag my feet as much as I can. Unfortunately, my wingman for this trip can only swing 2 weeks (16.5 days if we leave on a friday night.)

Super tenative for now, but it's gonna be tight for sure.

I figured the ram mount was a cheap gateway to tablet mounts as a proof of concept for me. I figure if I like it enough, I can upgrade to the techdeck and already have all the accessory parts.

Yeah the wife uses it on trips for her tablet to watch movies or read. If she's not with it holds my cb handset. Lol. It's held up well so far. I ended up getting the techdeck for my Spod touchscreen and for my phone. I put the ram balls on the pillars too but I really don't use them.

Yeah, I think after an afternoon with it, I am gonna go to a techdeck HD with a phone and a tablet x-mount. Frees up a little leg room for a passenger, and looks a little cleaner I think.

If I had to choose one it would definitely be the techdeck. Just don't forget to hook all the wires back up when you pull the stereo if you're getting the HD version. I got it all back together to find out I missed one and had to pull it all back out. Lol

Yea i looked at the tech deck before I went with the A pillar ram mount. I had actually thought about the seat bolt, but had not seen the ram mount you shared. You will have to let me know how stable it is once you get some hours on it. Very high on my list as of now! Thanks!

My wife rides shotgun and likes to watch movies, browse the web, and so on. With it on the RAM stalk she can easily rotate it towards her so that I can't see it. Once we turn off the bitumen I can turn it back to me and fire up my map software.

Now after defending it I have to admit for full disclosure that I have one of Shane’s limited edition iPad mini dash kits that I hope to install in the next few weeks which means I can pull the stalk. Only problem is that the MacBook I bought my wife is idle now that she has an iPad Pro to use. I’m thinking with a new RAM head I can have a place for the MacBook...
