 that's a little extreme to find some tic tacs you dropped!

But yea, definitely not permanently mounted to the body at all here. Well a quick call or email would put it to rest. They either provide a mounting point for it on the seat or not. Might be a legal liability concern if not. To protect themselves.

Oh and I think I would need the wide seat option!

If I get bored this week I'll yank my drivers seat out and take a look at how it's attached! Now I'm curious. There are blemished seats on Corbeau's site and I can get a seat for like $150+shipping. And I could make my own bracket because I really don't need a sliding one. I haven't adjusted my seat since I bought the truck!

I wonder if on their seat bracket there's a small tab for the seat belt buckle, similar to this.

Those Corbeau seats you are looking at are what's in the buggy and they are super comfy.

No need to yank it out the buckle is attached to the seat. I had mine out the other day running the coax for my CB. Usually the buckle is bolted or something to the seat hinge or base(slides). They have to make everything in sub assemblies for manufacturing so I am sure you can take it off. Get 5 pt harnesses there is a reason for them and it's to keep your ass from sliding out from under that lap belt. Down here seat belts don't really matter as long as you got em and use them. If the harness is any good then it is actually above the rating of DOT and will be approved. I wore a helmet for yrs without DOT #s but it was SNELL rated and the SNELL rating is higher than DOT so it was good to go. If you want to get technical seat belts are supposed to be replaced after like 10 yrs and every car accident but never are. You'll find that with harnesses as well.

While doing my reading I decided against a harness. A few people mentioned that without a roll cage (or at least a main bar above passengers) it’s more unsafe. It’ll keep you upright in a roll over which is bad without a cage.

Plus I’d need to have some sort of harness bar fab’d for the two upper mounts, and then that’d take away from Tony’s seat.

Plus plus I just don’t need a harness nor the cost of one haha

Yeah I read this about rollovers and harnesses when we were talking about it the other day. It doesnt allow your body to move and lean and so you run a higher risk of your head getting smushed without a roll cage. I think your biggest issue would be that bar. That would be hard to fab up since you dont have a pillar between your front and rear doors. So it would have to come up off the floor. It would be doable, but not worth the effort IMO

Yeah what I was imagining in my head was one giant bar that ran from the frame, up where my B pillar would be, across the roof, and back down the other side. Then two poles coming off the back at a 45° that goes down and also ties into the frame. All this assuming roll cages tie into frames because I have no idea.

Exactly. Especially when stock seat belts can be made to work. I think I mentioned it earlier but they have blemished seats and ones only $150, and I’d either make my own bracket or modify the existing one to fit on it. Could be a fun project. I’ll add that to my ever growing list of things to do.

You could still use the factory one just make sure you don't have a gap between your lap and the belt with those side bolsters if you do unbolt the lap belt portion and thread it through the slot for the harness and do the same for the buckle. Unless you find a set that is cut low enough for a factory style belt.

My one 255/R16 Cooper ST-Maxx got trashed this last Takeover at Rausch.

Anyone have a decent used one they’re willing to sell to me for cheap?

Just need one tire, no wheels.

I was also looking at this one, their sport seat. Again, this was just "kill time on night shift" idea so it probably won't ever materialize, but it's fun to research various things.

I was researching seats the other day, because on my drive to TX I realized how uncomfortable our seats are for long trips. Im seriously considering an option like this depending on brackets and how much additional work needs to be done.

They make tacoma specific brackets for ~$130 per side. You can get a pair of brand new reclining suspension seats for $600 and then brackets for another $250 or so. What I was looking at doing was buying just one of their blemished seats (it's generally only me in the truck for long drives anyways) and then attempting to modify the stock seat brackets to work on these. Would be a fun project and potentially get a comfy ass seat for less than $200
