I'm very pleased with the aem x-series I have. I'm not sorry I bought them.

I have the Tanabe, wish I got the AEM instead. They're very well built gauges but they are hard to see during the day. At least for me anyway, I have them mounted in the Lotek gauge pillar.

For those of you with the manual transmission, how long did you get out of your stock clutches before upgrading?

I'm looking at potentially getting a SC. However, it may just start the snowball effect. If I get a SC and the stock clutch won't handle it for long, then I might as well upgrade my clutch at the same time. If I do that, then would it be worth looking at upgrading my TOB to avoid any future chirp? (no issues now) I'd rather buy once, cry once.

However, if the stock clutch will last 10k miles than I can postpone upgrading it as I only drive 4-4.5k miles a year. If I get even a year out of it, that would make the financial burden a little easier.

On a seperate note, anyone know why URD is out of stock on all V6 short shifter kits?

One thing I appreciate about the aem temp gauge. The outer ring illuminated span is from 100-300 degrees. But it reads far lower temps numerically. I'm using it for my s/c and it runs far cooler.

How low does the aem go? I wanted one for supercharger coolant.

I’m thinking killer chiller in the future as well so it would be nice to have one that goes to atleast 30 degrees

I've got about 3k miles on my stock clutch and no slipping yet
Edit: I do have a stage 3 URD Clutch and lightweight flywheel on standby as I don't expect it too last too long with the way I drive..

Don't know why they're out, but you might look into a TRD SS kit. I've read several posts about the URD breaking after a year or two and the end snapping off of the bottom of the shifter. Part number for the TRD is PTR04-35052 for 6spd 4wd trucks. I have it in mine and love it. Instead of just using a spacer like the URD one does, the TRD replaces the entire shifting mechanism with a longer one

I guess it depends how you drive it. You can definitely have your fun and make it last a year if that’s all you drive.......or definitely longer. I’m gonna do a URD clutch kit with a TOB upgrade so I’m doing all at one time.
As far as short shifters, I went with TRD’s.

I have around 30k on the stock clutch with the SC. It will last a good while if you are pretty good with a clutch.

I have the URD short shift with no issues. Been in the truck for 2ish years.

Why no go with a Davtron intercooler pre and post gauge?

@rjbiii And to caveat my last statement about the clutch and short shift... I drive my truck like I just stole it. Its holding up great.

Nice! Im definitely gonna see how long i can make mine last. Everything ive read was that they were lasting anywhere from 5-10k after the s/c install. Good to hear someone who has had theirs last longer.

So far I’m at 20k after install. It definitely does slip at times though. That stock clutch isn’t meant for all this power added to it. I’m babying mine for now until I can afford to do the big swap to the URD set up.

Is it mainly on the highway when youre in 6th that it slips? Or when does it? Im running a 2.8 pulley so i feel as though im on borrowed time..
