Yeah the problem is on a trade in the dealer is going to hose you so they get you coming and going.

That said, life is short and if you really want a 4x4 there’s no point paying on something that you regret for the next 6 years.

Chalk it up to a lesson learned as long as you can get the better half on-board.

 

It only becomes a loss once you trade it in... ride your equity into dust and you are likely still going to be ahead of the game.

The good thing is I only owe 6k for the next 4 years. So my payments are under $200 a month & I can easily finish paying it off. There’s also a chance to flip this into a positive by keeping it a daily & just buying a toy later on.
It’s the everyday struggle, to upgrade or to settle lol

See if you can get into a 2016,2015 4x4 with the same payment for 5 instead of 4 years. You will be in the truck you want to be in for those 5 years .
I have two 2wd Tacoma's in my driveway and a crawler in the garage. If I sold one taco and the crawler I could get a 4x4taco but I have done some audio mods to my taco that I don't want to do again to the next one. Not in the summer anyways. Also my crawler is so capable that it would be hard to let it go. They each have their pros and cons . Life is short and if you don't spend it she will. Go get the 4x4 she will get over it .

The other thing to consider would be i daily it so if something happens on a trail I’d be fucked lol.
I don’t mind just being a basic bitch with it & making it a semi capable mall crawler. I also want to do some audio stuff & all that. & later on get the 4x4. So on the one hand I want it but I slacked it when I was looking cause I spent like 3-4 months searching but never bothered looking at a 4x4 assuming it was out of my price range.
Also her mom gave me the money to get the truck so it means a lot.. many things to consider lol. Oh. Plus the woman’s rich so she can spend whatever she wants for the most part, I on the other hand... lol
