my 2017 apparently had the original 2016 tune< so when i asked for TSB-0062-18 (my vin matched TSB) I got TSB-0077-16. so that tells me it has to be done in increments.

throttle response seems smoother and more responsive since updating TSB-0062-18. I'm actually not turning on the ECT.

You can download the CUW file from TW which includes the updated calibration and you can also install an older version of Techstream which will give you compatibility to run the CUW (calibration update wizard) file.

The only expense you really have is the Tactrix device which retails for $169
    https://www.tactrix.com/index.php?o...roduct_id=17&Itemid=53&redirected=1&Itemid=53

Can search around TW for links to a downloadable Techstream copy which will suffice to be able to run this file w/o paying...

I just got tsb 0058-18 rev 1 on my 2018. Seems better since I cleared the learning computers. I just hope it don't go back to bad habits.

Why when I look up Safety Recall and Service campaigns with my VIN number I get nothing but I'm pretty certain I need at least one of these. I think the shifting is clunky, doesn't shift when i expect it to. I wonder if I just get TSB-0077-16 that takes care of it or should i get the others as well.

    Yeah.
A TSB is not a service campaign or recall, they will not show up.

Thanks bud. This canadian version was performed for me today in Hamilton Ontario.20180802_145350.jpg feels better so far

    U.S version. Canadian version
    Surge. T-SB-0058-18. T-TCI-5133
    Stumble T-SB-0062-19. None yet??

Surprisingly hassle free, compared to 2 years ago updates. no drive test.
I think cuz theyve sold more trucks their more aware of these issues. It was all new in 2016

I hate to beat a dead horse here, but I moved from Oregon to Colorado. Mine definitely has a lag and then a red line when I go to pass on the freeway or if I am going say 40ish and hit it to pass or to get to speed. Almost like my old carbonated Suburban had a bog when nailing it. I assume this is the TSB that fixes this. However, do I need the "High Altitude" one? And if so, I am planning to go to Oregon in a couple of weeks, will it then screw up the programming or detonate etc. at lower altitudes? Please no guesses, if you have data or inside knowledge on this I would appreciate a response.

40-50 TSB isn't "high altitude limited". You'll be fine. I'm sure you'll be fine either way. It's just Toyota getting complaints/tests in certain areas for the other TSB fix on the WOT issue.

Thanks, I printed both of them out and will just hand them to the advisor and say "Do your worst...." :). No, seriously I normally don't put much care into these TSB's because overall I have no issues with the way my truck drives. BUT, that being said, there has been several occasions that I needed to give it hell to get going or pass or get out of harms way and it falls on it's face for a second and then goes. I do not like this and this would be sweet if it fixes it. Now, as far as the surge, I believe I have felt this. So if I hold it steady in around 4th gear, the trans locks up, then it feels almost like an engine miss vs. a surge. I almost characterize it as a "cutting out" kind of a feeling. Either way, I will see how it goes.

I'm so happy I got both of these TSBs done. It is a different truck to me now. I'm really happy with it. If it has any issues with it in lower altitudes, it'll be minimal.

So are both of these TSBs the same? I’m confused if I need to get the dealer to do multiple updates or just the 0062-18

I’m just going to the dealer tomorrow and I want to make sure I get everything updated. Can anyone confirm exactly what TSBs I need to demand to be up to date. Thanks :)

If I’m loosing OVTune for a few months I want everything I can get out of the dealer haha

I don’t think they are. My service paper says both got applied to me. My understanding they are separate.
