I posted those a little while ago. I’m actually kind of diggin the adventure bike. I remember they had the live wire on one of those dealership tours a while back. They were still in the development stage and hadn’t quite nailed down the battery. They were only getting something like 50 miles to the charge. Hope they figured it out because a lot of people said they were a blast to ride.

My sister just sent this pic to me. My Dad in the late 70s. Anyone know what the bike is? Thank God I don't remember my Dad wearing Daisy Dukes!

Looks like a Yamaha XS650. Late 70s model?

Edit: possibly 750- it looks like a triple

Sadly, I do remember my dad wearing running shorts that were that length.

Not a great pic, but is that a drum front brake?

Looks like, but it's hard to tell. I have an XS750 and the calipers are just behind the forks and in a blurry picture, they could look similar. Maybe an older model, mid to early 70s?

All I remember about that bike is Dad cursing when it wouldn't start, and I burned my leg several times riding on the back. Seemed like a big bike back then.

There are small variations in the xs models from that decade, but overall they didn't change much. Looks like there were definitely some aftermarket parts on your dad's bike: crash bar, backrest, painted front fender. But I think it's pretty close.

Curious how it works out for you. Night time shots if you get a chance? BTW, did you do anything (upgrade) to your turn signals?

Not yet. In VA we dont need signals to pass safety inspection. I might remove them, and add a slim brake light on the fender, or put in a vintage STOP light, with a vertical plate holder.

They definitely need something though! Or at least a smoke cover

    Too few to list.
I just saw these new models yesterday. Looks like HD is expanding their horizon with the Sport Bike and the electric.
