Need some help to decide which tires to get as I don't know what the differences are between them. I like the look of all tires listed so I'm really looking for what others have used and why? Road performance, off-road performance, and how quite they are on the highway (can't have it all I know).

    Size (Set): 265/75/R16

I don't think I can go wrong with any choice honestly.

Going to try and post my finding here so its all in one spot:

    Falken Wildpeaks AT3W
    Reports of balancing issues
    Not great in mud terrain
Hit or miss quality control issues

    Toyo Open Country AT/2
May or may not wear out quicker
Reports of high noise after minimal wear

    BFG T/A K02
Seems to be the most popular
    Heavy tires
Tires do not favor rainy road conditions apparently

    GY Wrangler Duratrac
Reports of high noise after minimal wear
    Reports of balancing issues

    Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ
Report of being super quite on the road

    Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S/LT/LTX
Not as aggressive tread as the others

    Cooper Discoverer S/T MAXX
    Minimal road noise
Great performance for everything but snow

    Dick Cepek Extreme Country
Reports of minimal road noise, less than most AT

    General Grabber AT2
Couldn't find anything really negative about these

Reasearch and YouTube videos first. All opinions will vary. Plus there are hundreds of these same threads that you can use for background info.

Do the leg work and use the members on this site as a secondary reference since all opinions are different. All are capable tiresbwith different attributes.

I have personal experience with 3 of those tires and I'm going with the new Cooper's just released. At3 LT. Might want to explore those. As a heads up, every tire thread is just basically everyone to tell you to get the tires they have on their truck.

Lol. See what I’m saying OP?

Do your own research and maybe go see some in person for yourself on peoples trucks or at a shop.

after doing the same research, i went with cooper at3 lts c rated . Since i dd the truck, and go offroading, haul, and plan on towing i figured the coopers would be the best. Super quiet and smooth ride.

LOL, I've been in this same research loop. There's like a 100 page thread for each, I swear! I'll try and sum up my research as beast I can.

Seems to wear quicker than most/as advertised, the Falkens are reportedly hard to balance based on many users:
    Falken Wildpeaks AT3W
    Toyo Open Country AT/2

    Extremely capable, but heavy AF:
    BFG T/A K02

People seem happy, but they are loud as balls when the tread wears ~50%:
    Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac

    No idea:
    Mickey Thompson Baja AT2

    Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S/LT/LTX:
People seem pleased, but the newest update to the design is just coming into a lot of stores.

    Cooper STT Max/Pro:
expensive, but people seem to like them. Pros are LOUD. Used on the safari/hunt rig land cruisers in Africa, so they are vetted.

    all tore up already
Pft no coopers on the list? St maxx all around. They were literally quieter going down the road than my own Firestone le2 with 25k on them. Have 15k on the coopers and no regrets(or wear!) Louder when cornering at parking lot speeds is the only time I hear em.

I have the falkens. great in wet, quiet and ride smooth. will be going to the stt pros or toyo m/ts next though considering most of my wheeling is in mud and the falkens suuuuck in mud, as is expected from an a/t but everywhere else they are pretty solid so far.

yeah yeah. I almost pulled the trigger on stt pros but 1400 vs 800 for the falkens had me sold on the falkens this time around.

This is exactly why i created a poll. There are so many threads on this it is extremely hard to sort through them all. I have/will of course do my own research, but having several opinions is always helpful - for instance, i hadn't considered the Coopers.

For what it's worth, these are the "hawt" tires here on TW.

For general DD tires that slay offroad, my cooper RTXs have done really well. Utah snow, loose AZ sand, rain, slickrock, etc.

Only downside I've found is they look pretty "boring" unlike the beefier KO2s or STT meats.

    Working on them
I went with BF Goodrich KM3 and find that they are one excellent tire for both on road and Off with super performance along with very very little road noise (you have to lean out the window and listen carefully for it) they air down well 265/75/16. not to mention they do look good too

I went with the Falken Wildpeaks, had them less than 1000 miles but so far but they feel great.

I love reading reviews (not on this particular forum per say) for these tires. One group of people say its the best tire they ever got and another group says they suck. I basically want a highway tire with aggressive looks that can perform off-road the few times i take it.

My 4runner needed tires for most of your same reasons. The ko2 looks aggressive, is quiet and performs great in the snow and off road. They are load range E which is good and bad

Not listed. Cooper STT pro. I got 4 of them for $1000 OTD including mount and balance and tax and certificates for replacement. Also, they are relatively light for their size when compared to others. Mine are 285/75/16 weighing 59lbs. E load. Not loud on roads. Incredibly capable off road. You didn’t list any MT’s so maybe you shouldn’t buy MT’s but I love mine. Ko2’s Are always a safe bet unless you’re in mud.
