The initial estimate is just that.. the supplemental estimates to follow will probably double or triple once the shop gets into the repair

New headlights with bezels run close to 1600 for a pair. Parts are not cheap.

I would take a magic eraser used for cleaning and some car detailer spray an wipe it down to remove most the scratches an hit it with a Mother’s mag polish or some polish an will look ok can try pop any dents. From under wheel wells

Well, finally got the truck all fixed and they did a GREAT job! Truck looks as good as new. And they fixed my rattling window on the rear driver's side (window would rattle when rolled all the way down).

    So, initial estimate was ~$2,250.00.

Final cost was ~$5,211.00 - almost twice the initial estimate.

Needless to say I'll be a bit more careful on the Forest Service roads, but damn that was a fun day! Not sure if it was worth the $500 deductible. Our insurance initially went up nearly $40/month, but rates went up anyway in Colorado due to a huge hailstorm in the area. I upped my deductible to $1000 and changed billing from monthly to twice per year and got the insurance payment down to where the increase was almost negligible.

    Woohoo!

Buff it, touch up the paint if necessary and re-clearcoat yourself.

Then get some new tail lights. Aftermarket? :notsure:

Well I guess at this point it's just a point of pride because there's no prize! But I'd have to give it to either @SWB Tacoma or @lynlan1819:

PS, I had them paint the entire drivers side to reduce any impact from mismatched paint, however, it looks like they nailed the paint match. I've checked just about every angle and I can't tell a difference at all!

Nice that you get to pay for someone elses hail damage. Gotta love insurance companies! Glad your truck is fixed.

2.316 x initial estimate. So does 'almost' count on either side of the final answer? :D

Glad you got it fixed to your satisfaction. That's important, and not always easy!
