OK. I think I may sell mine. It's a great product and all but with my combination of wheels, tires, and lift, I'm still getting a lot of rubbing.

What problems are you having? I have a 2.5" lift on 34s with no problems. Had to slightly modify the mounting but it works

 

Well, the tires rub on a full lock turn, left or right, going forward, and even on a slight turn backing up. I have an Icon Stage 2 lift (3-inches) and 275/70-17 BFGs. I'll try to get some pics.

Let me mention again that I am not dissing the product. I'd recommend it to anyone; it's just not working for me.

 

No I got you, I just thought the XLs on the 2nd gen were mounted almost outside the fender so I'm surprised your having issues. Anyone else with a 2nd gen that can help this member out?

 

The tires seem to be rubbing on the inboard side of the mudflap in a tight turn. Doesn't look like it is doing any harm to the tire; it's just rubber against plastic. I'll try to get a pic.

 

Do you have pics of the modification you had to do?

 

I'll take a picture tomorrow but basically the hole that the "L" bracket attaches to gets cut out when you do the CMC so I just took a drill and made a new hole further back and since the flaps are flexible it was no big deal.

 

I’ve had my mudflaps on a previous group buy, maybe for two years? I also had some rubbing issues on the front tires. Mostly doing the turns, going forward and reversed seemed ok. I don’t know if the cab mount chop would fix this? I have the same tires but on stock suspension.

 

Something you guys can do if the tires are rubbing on the flaps but not the cab mount. Take L bracket the supports the flap to the cab mount and rotate it 180 degrees. Then take the flap and you should see a small serrated section at the top. Cut that section off. Now remount your flap but this time the L bracket is turned around so it should pull that corner of the flap away from the fender giving you another couple inches of space

 

I've heard of this, but I'm not sure exactly what it is. Help an old man out.

 

So if you look in your front wheel well there is a section of frame that pokes out into the wheel well. This is what the whole cab is bolted down to. A cab mount chop basically cuts 1 - 2" off a section of this frame to allow larger tire fitment within the wheel well. Here is a picture after I did my CMC. The arrow points to that section of frame. Compare it to what your wheel well looks like.

 

I should have read-up on reviews before making my decision to go with the short length. I chose them because I thought they looked good, however I'm getting a lot of mud/road crud thrown up on my door and rear that I didn't get before

So do you remove it with a grinding wheel or plasma cutter or what? How does it affect the structural integrity of the body/frame?

 

Yeah I just used an Angle grinder and cut it off. Supposedly it doesn't severely affect the integrity but some people will weld in plates to put the integrity back. Most people I think just leave it open like I did. Just make sure to spray some paint on the exposed steel to prevent rusting.

Installed my rokblokz flaps yesterday, the fit and finish seem of good quality, although they are somewhat of a pain in the backside to install due to the Phillips screws. Overall, good road flaps.

 

I'm going to be selling mine. I had them on for a week and they rub terribly for me. As I said before, I'm not dissing the product; it's just that with my combination of lift and tires, the front rubs even on an easy 45-degree turn.

I really liked them; it sucks that they don't work for me.

 

What version do you have? Regular VS Short, oversized wheels, color ???

Too bad, I am looking to switch for the long oversized in black. I go the short already.
