Finally a fix from Toyota for Stumble condition (TSB 0062-18)

Anyone else get this?

 

Anyone from SoCal that can recommend a dealership that will do the tsb update without hassle? OC area. I’ve been to west coast Toyota and their technician refused to do it. The service advisor was coo with it, the tech didn’t want to do it.

I advised them of the issues. They couldn’t replicate.

Any other dealerships that will do it without hassle?

Crap, just noticed the TSB mentions A/T.. My M/T truck definitely has this. Have any M/T owners had luck getting this TSB?

Yeah it's for auto only at this point. Like you said though, the WOT stumble affects M/T trucks too.

 

Truck is going in tomorrow morning for 15K service.

I will be requesting this TSB as well as TSB -0058-18 for the surging both be performed. We will see if they consider the stumble, stutter, flop at sea level in S Florida to be "high altitude" as mentioned in the TSB.
I will also be having them look into and repair the leaking roof, brake light I am guessing.
Roof trim molding pulling up on one side.
AND ... odd smell like bad aftershave or musky air freshener. I can not find the source for the life of me. The wife notices it more than I do, but I am in the truck daily. If it sits closed up all weekend the smell is pretty strong. Other than myself ,only my wife on very rare occasions and the dealership service dept has driven the truck. I have not placed any air fresheners in it, so this one is a mystery they will likely shrug off.

If they refuse the TSB's I may have to get TS and do them myself, try a different dealer.. or convince the wife I need to spend another K on tuning the truck.

 

UPDATE
After 1 week of driving with the new TSB 0062-18, there is no change in the MPG. In the beginning I lost about 1 MPG since I had fun pushing it but under "normal" driving conditions on US-60 WB, the gas drinking habit is the same.

I have been anxiously waiting for someone w/a 6MT to pipe up and say they had their buddy at a Toyota dealership try it out on their truck.

 

They applied both to mine. Don't think there the same

What does Toyota consider "high elevation" ? The TSB is not specific in stating this. If the dealer says you are not high elevation ask him to show you the actual spec.
This is total bs on the dealers part if they refuse.
The truck has a software issue and it has to be fixed...period !
Shouldn't matter where you live.
Are they not replacing Takata air bags if you don't live in a high humidity environment where they are more likely to fail ?

 

So, with these going out, I wonder if 1). They are considering a recall 2). They are working on something in addition to the current TSBs....Hmm......
