I'm gonna beat and drill this bumper some more tonight. Grease and check what needs it. Oil change.

I'm gonna drink bourbon. My truck is ready. All but coolers are packed and ready to load. Ready to pop smoke.

Fortunately my CB sounds pristine so I can give people directions to the nearest non-trail even if they don't have ham.

Used to sound like shit, like mine does/did. Then @presta24 traded places with ya.

No clue if mine is doing any better. I'll check the ground on the frame side again just in case.

I kept working on mine. It was good, but I wanted better. Moving antenna to rear bumper (away from cab and on solid steel grounded to frame) was the ticket. I'd already made an appointment with a local CB shop (yes, they still exist) to peak my radio to 60 watts. (Out of the box CB's are 4 watts) The range quadrupled. I hear the word "modulatin'" a lot now when I call truckers for a radio check!

As Tom Cruise said to Jack Nicholson in "A few good men, when Jack asked him "Are we clear"?

    CRYSTAL!

My SWR was where it should be when Matt and I tested at RRG. Either my mic is FUBAR or the ground has lost its groundyness

Cobra mic's aren't the best. Pick up an Astatic noise reduction mic. Most truck stops will have 'em. Usually around $30

CB's are like camera equipment and uncircumcised dicks.....No end to it....

    Scratches, dents, lots of squeaks.
I had a new president radio for the gorge in June. My radio is now pristine. You just couldn't tell over your Donald duck setup.
