Forgot to get a pick of the bikes with the truck, but here is a clip of some sections of the ride.

They shut down a 12 mile section of the park and have an out and back. It is always in July near the full moon and starts at 10PM. Fun ride lots of decorated and lit up bikes.

Awesome pics! I ride buff creek mini tour about twice a year. Kicks my ass every time! Gas house trail is a SOB! But in order to enjoy the downhill you gotta endure the uphill.

Anyone do any night riding? I live in Phoenix so it’s super hot and I get off work at midnight so a few guys I work with and I go out at midnight and ride. I have got to say I love night rides.

The only night riding I do is the organized antelope island ride that I posted a bit of video for up above a few posts. I get worried enough with people on their phones during daylight.

I'm thinking of selling my 160mm Pivot Mach 6.
Probably going to buy a 130-140mm 27.5" bike.

Anybody have experience with Guerilla Gravity or Evil?

Dude night riding is awesome. It's a necessity in the winter here (barring not too cold).

I’ve heard nothing but great things about Guerilla Gravity. My buddy has a trail pistol and loves it!

I really like what they stand for. Especially because inevitable tariff increases (temporarily at least) I would prefer keeping my $$ close to home

It's fun, but I only do it in a group.

Animals come out at night. My buddy went over the bars and broke his clavicle after a deer ran out in front of him on a downhill section of trail. We also have a decent mountain lion population out here.

I've murdered a handful of rabbits on my night rides. :(

That's what keeps me from doing more also. As long as I have a friend interested though, it's super fun. One of the best rides was in Fruita at night under a full moon, riding ridges and flow lines in the desert at night was definitely memorable.

GG is awesome. And you won't regret the shorter travel bike, with proper modern geo and good suspension you can rip 95% of what enduro sleds can, but get that snappy handling. I'd look for something with a progressive rate frame though. Coming from the bigger bike you'll hit the bottom regularly, and something with a progressive rate means you can get some solid ramp up before you do. Also, coil.

    Coil = $$$
Transition Patrol is on the short list, too.
I've never understood how a linkage can affect curve. Isn't it all about the shock?

    Get your geek on...

    https://www.bikeradar.com/us/mtb/ge...-mountain-bike-rear-suspension-systems-50849/

Of course, air shocks are progressive, and (most) coils are linear, which is why you want a progressive frame design. But again, most modern coils can be tuned to get some progression using the high speed compression circuit, making them usable in some linear designs also.

I'm a very recent coil convert. I've used so many air shocks, and I just installed a Cane Creek Double Barrel Inline. About the same $ as other top of the line air shocks, and barely heavier than the DPX2 it replaced, but sensitivity and control are off the charts. It takes a little tuning, but sooo worth it.
It really makes the bike feel more capable. So much so that I'm probably going to upgrade the fork to the new Helm coil.

Ran across this setup on a TRD Sport at a trailhead/craft brew place this afternoon. Looks like a nice simple way to haul a single bike, no? Wonder how this works.... I don’t have the rail in the front of the bed on my ‘18 TRD ORSB. What’s the pipe? 308716F5-5BDA-4191-A6BF-8FDC93C5C426.jpg

You can get the front rail for about 40 bucks on Amazon. Same as second gen. Uses a Torx bit, ad the bolts are already in the bed.
