I had the TSB done over two weeks ago. It is like a brand new truck. Shifts just like any other automatic transmission I have had in a truck. Sure glad I didn't spend the $800 on an OVTune. Those guys that did will have to reinstall it after updating with the TSB. Too much hassle for me. Get this TSB done and you will be thrilled!

As far as mileage I have burned through a tank of gas and my mpg went up 1/2 mpg.

Lol, just stop it bro.. a new version of OVtune was coming out anyway. Mat is incorporating the good stuff that came out in the TSB. READ: IT WILL BE PART OF THE NEXT TUNE VERSION.

BTW, "re-installing" the tune takes less than 5 minutes once you have the file from OVtune. Hassle? Maybe for a guy who's never done it o_O

The stuff you read on here..

BTW those of us who have been around the OVtune and SSP threads know who you are and your M.O. lol

Does this apply to anyone with 2016 who have already done TSB on transmission fixes back in oct/dec of 2017? or is this whole new TSB?

So if a guy went and bought a new 2018 off the lot TODAY, would this TSB have been applied at the factory or is it something you should ask the dealer to do before you drive it away?

the TSB was issued July 17th 2018 so I doubt that trucks sitting on the lot have been done. they probably won't get done until the buyer complains about the issue.

Why would you have to leave the truck for an ECU re-flash?? This shouldn't take too long to get done.

They will do it...they have to. Toyota knows it's an issue which is why the T-SB. If your local refuses, address your complaint/request to your Regional then Corporate.
Besides...they want that good review on the new purchase don't they. ;)

I'll have it done with my 50k oil change. I'll be a "paying" customer.

I get really bothered by the dealer washing mine lol .

    What exactly is this stumble?
I'm wondering if it's just being described as differently that the almost like a surge I get.

FWIW I eliminated 90% of the "stumble" when I installed a K&N cold air intake well over a year ago. It did provide much better throttle response. I have had the stumble once or twice since then. I still intend on getting this TSB done eventually.

It is a great working service upgrade, I really hope the learning function doesn't revert it.
