Snugtop GB Sport. Best $1200 I spent on my truck yet.

Trying to figure out which to get, snugtop, leer, ARE... don't know?

I really want to put a RTT on top of it... so that complicates things. You hear some bad stuff and some don't worry about it... anyway, really want a AT Habitat but don't want to wait 20+ weeks for one!

I paid almost $2900 for everything. SnugTop Rebel with Windoors, Front window slider that folds down, Sportsman package, Pro Lock, and Yakima/Thule rails. I shopped around quite a bit and had different dealers competing for prices. I think they originally quoted me like $3,600 or something like that.

I really like SnugTop. If you want to have a RTT (me too!) you can get the sportsman package which allows the shell to hold up to 500 pounds dynamic weight. The shells roof is super thick, I want to say like over 2 inches thick where the rails are.

Seriously... They had a bunch of Tacoma Rebels, GB Sports, and others at the shop and some were going for like $1000. Same one as mine. The markup on those shells are insane. I will say, if you do get a shell, get the windoors. When I need to get something in the front of the bed or unload the truck with the garage closed it makes it so much easier.

There is one shop Locally that has a leer xl in stock and the correct color, but they still want 2200 for it and another 500 for roof parts

It may be 20 weeks, but it's worth it! Had mine a little less than 2 months and couldn't be happier. The interior standing room is awesome.

Right place at the right time. Found a guy about two hours away from me that bought his Tacoma used and it had it on it. He was tickled to death to get 1200. Is has the power locking glass and roof rack too.

Howdy! I have a Sport Hi-Liner purchased brand new for my '18 taco this past summer. Same issue as OP as well as leaks from just about every orifice (including the third brake light), a rear window trim strip that's a 1/2" longer on one side, poor paint (several spots appear to be touched up with a paint pen), wavy fiberglass, and the weatherstripping for the back window is peeling off with the paint (paint didn't cure, but adhesive worked great).

Snugtop has insisted the cap must go back to them (out 6+ weeks without a cap I paid for) and hasn't agreed to a replacement. I'm not happy. The dealer has been helpful and apologetic, but it seems like they can't do much else for me. Any advice would be appreciated.

I had Snugtop send me another cap and swapped my POS with a lesser POS. Mine still leaks. Some of the leaks are because of a crappy installation. The interior flashing around the windows looks like it was installed by a child. Screws not seated completely, bends not even, lumpy and doesn't conform to the shell. This is the third Snugtop I've bought in the past 22 years. The present quality is shit compared to past years. Good luck.

Do you leak from the windows?

I don’t have a snugtop but my shell had the same issue with the screws not seated all the way
