Just filled out a pretty comprehensive survey on the auto transmission’s shifting issues.

Looks like Toyota is game planning a solution.

Here’s a screen shot from the beginning of it...

I got this. Filled it out but some of it didn't really apply since I have a manual which I explained at the end.

    Thank you sir, :hattip:

    M/Ts need some attention too.

YES to 3 and 4 (with me shifting ;)) on the stock calibration.

Mine stopped doing all of the noted issues once I added OVTUNE. Mother Ship, Service Advisor and Tech said all the referenced issues were
"normal" and they could find nothing wrong or duplicate the issues. There will be one shit storm in the dealers repair shop if Toyota decides to fix all the Tacoma trucks they have produced with the auto transmission. Hope it happens.

I've received a few random surveys from Toyota Corporate, but not this one.

My answers would be: No, Yes, No, Rarely

Yeah that's pretty much what I dug into. Went on a spiel about the sporadic power delivery from 1000-3000 RPMs at the end when they opened it up to custom comments lol. Most of the questions (all multiple choice answer) were clearly intended for auto transmission owners unfortunately.

Yes I do. Just wanted to see where it was and if survey was accessible to people who won't get it.

I completed the survey. I was honest. There are things that could be better. But I love Tacomas...on my third one. Tacomas suit my needs and I have never had to put a wrench to them. I have over 100K miles over 3 different trucks...so none of them with excessively high mileage. But they have all held their value and were in great shape years after I bought them. They are reliable and hold their value better than anything else on the road (if you get 4WD). But there are some folks here (maybe trolls, maybe not) who are totally unreasonable. Want a Lexus, then buy a Lexus. Want a Raptor, then buy a Raptor. Want the best (judging from re-sale value) and most capable mid-size truck on the market, then buyer a Tacoma. But know what you're getting. It is a truck. It is going to drive like a truck, ride like a truck and perform like a truck. I'm tolerant of different opinions. And I guess it is possible that Toyota wrenches together a lemon every so often. I'm even tolerant of dealerships. I know they aren't charities. I'm happy for them to make a little money off me. But if you know what you're getting, and know your stuff, you can't go wrong with a Toyota Tacoma.

It came in an email from "Toyota Motor North America<noreply@qemailserver.com>"

The link only works once and I'm assuming is tied to my email address.

Are these issues showing up in all 3rd gen model years or just the 16's?

One question asked what octane gas I use. I thought that was interesting. Options were 87 89 93
