I spent some time at Fort Eustice and Fort Lee. (Army) I'm currently just done the grade from Thousand Oaks in Ventura. I already work for the Organization that I interviewed for...so Hopefully I get it! There are 4 Spots open So I will either be at DLA in Norfolk or DLA in Portsmouth.

 

That's a hell of a grade! Anyways that'd be cool if you got the job. I recommend getting your CCW for VA. It's really really easy, and norfolk/portsmouth can be sketchy. I may be moving down there mid next year.

 

I'm 2.5+ hr from Norfolk.

LOL That was one of the first things I looked into. 45 days max wait time and no classes needed with DD-214! Plus it's a stand your ground state! I am actually looking into living in the Chesapeake area (Grass valley or some shit, school district). Problem is I still could not carry to or from work (can't bring guns on base). Unless they have a DoD Civilian Armory at the gate you could check it in and out of! lol.

 

I filled out my application, dropped it off at the courhouse with my orders, and I got the permit in the mail two weeks later. It was awesome.

And there's a marine exchange on camp allen where you can buy guns tax free. Plus they have a glock blue label program where we get special pricing. I got a brand new glock 22 for like $430 there.

I was likely going to live in chesepeake too if we end up moving down there. It's a nice area.
