Got it yesterday, still filling it out. I have a 4 cylinder also. Said something about since I had done a previous survey they want my opinion. Anyone know if the new tsb would apply to a four cyl?

If the majority who say they have no issues but are using 89 or 93 Octane, and the majority who say they do have these issues and say are using 87, then that will give the programmers/engineers some helpful data.

    Yep, I filled it out.

What a wacky coincidence was that I had my first 3 "stumbles" in succession yesterday morning with 13,800 on the clock.

I also got this survey for my 18. Some odd tranny issues, so I gave my input. Sitting right at 12k miles so far. Overall I'm still very happy with the truck, first taco and loving it.

Filled out mine, 5-spd manual. Interesting to see if they release some sort of "update" for it, since SR Manuals are both discontinued and thin on the ground.

Got the survey yesterday and answered it.

Yes, yes, yes, yes for mine. It's not bad, but it's not as good as it should be for a Toyota.

I’ve gotten prior surveys but haven’t gotten this one yet... would be yes across the board based on what Toyota gave me to work with in my first year of ownership. With OVTune it would be Sometimes, No, No, No. With the latest TSB it would be a Sometimes, no, yes, yes. Yet I still love the truck, just glad to have options!

Weird. I figured they always knew and just didn’t GAF. This sounds like they genuinely had their heads up their ass this whole time.

@OVTune has basically work-around fixed it but from what he’s said it also sounds like there’s still some fundimental stuff about the ECU/calibration (am I using the right words?) that needs addressing from Toyota to really set it straight (i.e. delete learning, differentiate between cruising vs. accelerating shifts, fix torque converter issues).

You'd think so, but I have my doubts it will with this engine/calibration. In my case, it didn't matter what fuel I ran. The only symptom that would change slightly with higher octane fuel was surging or stuttering under load below 2000 rpm. WRT the power delivery questions in that small snippet of the survey, nope - no change.

I agree that they need to see the data on fuel though...

I have a 16, and mine shifts just fine (survey would have been 4 no’s for me). So not sure what the difference is for those with issues.

Mine is a new 2018 and the transmission shifts up to 6th way too quickly. This forces a downshift as soon as you encounter the least bit of a hill or if you want to speed up even a few mph.

I installed SSP 2 days ago and it shifts great now. I would like to get the survey and it would be all yes's.
