    Currently searching for dream truck...
    TBD
When i was driving to the movies with my girlfriend i felt like i ran over something. I thought i had a blowout or something because i saw some pieces flying up. My truck started grinding and i pulled over. I got out and looked around and didnt see anything wrong. I looked under the truck and this is what i saw.

My brake assembly came loose and separated. I was very fortunate that the wheel didnt come of completely. After getting a closer look there was no major damage other than the inside of my rim was scuffed up. I got my truck towed home and bouth some new lugnuts from autozone. I was very lucky to not have died or hurt anybody else.

Lesson learned: Never half ass putting your wheels back on. I took apart the rear end last week and just air wrenced them on. ALWAYS tighten them with your hands (and or torque wrench).

X2, and remember to tighten them in a criss-cross pattern. 80 foot pounds should be fine.
Start off at a lower torque and work your way up.

Glad to hear your ok. Always use a torque wrench. It probably would of been worse if it was the front tire.

Yes, I found out the hard way when discount tire cross threaded one of mine and I broke it off trying to remove it.
