The dogs are trained to find the bear scent and follow it till they catch up.

Sometimes the bears go right up a tree, and sometimes they walk all day long until the dogs give up and quit. I’ve seen it where we’ve had like 40 dogs(exaggerated clam down) on one bear and they still don’t give shit and just keep walking all day.


The majority of the time after they catch the bear we leash the dogs up and take them back to the truck and the bear goes free.

Most the time the bears just hang out in the tree, pretty calm. I’ve seen them and lions fall asleep in trees before.

 

Im just guessing here.

 

It was a leash going to a tree so he couldn’t get closer to the ledge or the cat.

For fun really, the animals don’t get hurt, most the time.

We do run quite a bit of bears out of campgrounds though, getting into people’s stuff.

It can completely suck ass too.
Walking all day up and down canyons or leaving the house at 11:30 pm and driving around through the night and too the next morning just to find nothing.
