When I had purchased the truck, the rears were darker than the fronts, and on top of that, they used a much more reflective tint on the front originally than on the rears, which were a standard charcoal. After removing the front tint about 3 weeks ago, I finally took the time to have the front 2 and a strip across the windshield re-applied. I went w/ 15% to obtain a perfect match. Heres a few quick pics

So that's what 15% looks like. I want to get mine tinted as well, maybe a tad darker still.
    Thanks for the pics!

ETA: Forgot .. SC's limit is 27%. Oh well :)

Tint looks nice but what brand tint did you use? (Can I ask that on this forum) What % did you use for the back window. Did you use ceramic film to reduce heat. Here in the south the heat will kill your interior! Did you get a lifetime guarantee with your tint job?

Same as the OP, 15% although the front windshield makes them look a little lighter. Parked in the garage, it looks like a perfect match with the rear windows.

    Thanks guys!!

hah, yep....NJ :) I havent run a front plate on my cars since I started driving. Really takes away from the appearance imo!

I'm 99% sure it was Lumar. 15% and its not ceramic from what I'm aware of. Huper Optik and the like would be great to have, but a little too pricey for my needs up here. If I lived in FL, TX, AZ, or whatever, I'd probably consider a more heat resistant tint. Dunno about the guarantee either. I wont own the truck for a lifetime, so as long as it lasts me a good 5-10 years, thats all I can ask for :p

Thanks :) I agree, gotta have the windows done on all vehicles :D

Yep! Its a great % imo. 5% is just too dark at night for me personally, but I can still get away w/ this at night w/o any problems.
I know the officers in parts of SC can be a pain, but if you're w/ the FD, wont they let you slide on professional courtesy?

I used to get pulled over every so often in NJ with front tint. You must be extremely lucky if you don't get caught, especially with no front tag. I also hope you have a hookup to get through inspections. Got caught a couple times with my windows rolled down when they thought to roll them up to check at the inspection station.

    Yeah, NJ sucks.

I really dont think night vision was affected all that much. I havent found myself struggling to see any objects or whatever. I think you would be fine w/ it.
