Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

Exact same ??? I had. Currently running 1.04 with the 04B03 ECU and not interested in the Dealer TSB - simply waiting on 1.05 for the 04B03 ECU. ??? Mat, @OVTune is that what your plan is for those of us going down the "wait for 1.05" path?

 

I'm not sure why but the 1.04 tune did not sit well with my truck shfiting wise, it was extremely rough and unpleasant. I'm looking forward to trying out the 1.04 tune with the 04tsb improvements.

 

Come to hilly stop & go SF... we can get this way down for you. I’m talking race truck numbers.

 

No shit! So true . Many years of experience with hills and crappy gas mileage to go with high gas prices!

 

whew took a week but I finally got thru this thread. I just bought a used '16 Tacoma and started looking for info on the drivability issues and came across this thread. Gonna try to get the latest TSB from the dealer and then order my OVTune kit. Hoping for a Labor Day discount or another charity donation, well that and a few weeks to build my funds back up.

 

I'm sure this has been asked but is the 1.04 release this weekend include the TSB update or do i need to go get it done first? I want to see the difference when all the TSB features are included in the 1.04 tune.

But you need to have had the TSB done in order to use it.

How do you get to 04B04 without having the TSB done?

 

I seem to remember Mat saying that he was rolling it into the tune, but not until the release of 1.05. Mat?

 

This has also been mentioned so I feel like it could be both. 1.04 for those on 04b04 and 1.04 including 04b04 for those that didnt go to dealer.

 

Looking forward to this. The latest TSB does shift extremely smooth. Not necessarily the right shift points for my liking but I have yet to feel anything remotely harsh or jerky on the drivetrain no matter driving style. Now to get back my ponies!

So for those of us who still have the dongle software running 1.04 and want to update to 1.05 do we just download it directly from the OVtune flash software (running boot camp on MacBook)? (When 1.05 is released of course)

 

Again, the way Mat’s post in the 3GT Facebook group reads, you must have the TSB to use 1.04rev1.
