They added some variations of them now, the Discoverer AT3 XLT is a bit more aggressive

 

Rear bumper is braced and done.


Only need to pop in a couple caps.

 

Spent forever today trying to track down the most annoying squeak in my rear end. I thought for sure it was my dakars, but definitely not them. The squeak is more noticeable while in reverse.

 

this is why i bought my own spring compressor... i cant trust people for stuff like this, you can probably rent a spring compressor from auto zone, compress the spring to where you can rotate the shock and get it in the right position.

 

Maybe a u-joint?

Installed my new bumps yesterday. Now just to go use them!

 

Stripped the bolt head or snapped it off? I know @Reh5108 broke his and needed to re drill and tap the spindle I think. Only way to get a stripped bolt head off is welding something to it usually. Or at least is the easiest way. Grab a shit 14mm closed end wrench and weld it to the bolt head.

 

the bolt is fine. its the threads inside the knuckle that stripped. i got the bolt out. it just spins freely inside the knuckle.

I'm brand less... I make them at my house in the good ol' State of Arizona. Just a small time forum member offering something back to my friends. My girlfriend made me a very nice website so I can look big . The current version bump stops were a collaboration of 50+ forum members personal input as well as applied industry knowledge. Its been really cool having everyone's help, I have made several new friends from engineers, a crazy Chemist, to stay at home dads that have no way to go out and wheel so they just read about wheeling on the forums collecting knowledge (getting ready for that "one day") and on and on. Plus I personally am a plastics and rubber guy with a background in rapid prototyping. We have a very good product that has made a huge wave in the small world of bump stops. there is no other bump stop on the market short of hydro/gas bumps that even comes close.

I am familiar with issues of the center hole filling with debris with other brands, Unfortunately the center hole is a necessary evil because it allows for mounting of the bump stops with out the need of welding. With our design we did our best to try to eliminate any potential issues such as

- All of my bump stops mount using JIS 10.9 Flange bolts with 14mm hex head. No Allen head to fill with dirt.

- When the bump stop makes full contact with the strike plate material/mud can still be squeezed out of the cavity. Any dry material in theory would fly/jump out as the LCA cycles. the bump stops rubber is slightly angled to help address this concern.

- Should sand, mud, gravel remain in the cavity the rubber material used to build these bump stops is stronger than any foam. My bump stops can take a ton of abuse. I just posted a video showing one of my front bump stops in action check it out; toyotabumpstops.com

 

+1 for @Plastics Guy bumps...I haven't gotten to really test mine out yet but according to the strike plate they've seen some compression already and I haven't noticed it one bit...which is a good thing.

 

Yup @Plastics Guy is the “brand” so far the best option out there for first gens that I know of.

I def beat the piss out of my truck the other day but not exactly sure how much I used the bumps. Anytime I came down, I was pretty slow about it and everything felt pretty smooth. I need to check the strike plate too.

 

Get a used OEM one and rebuild with SDHQ boots.

 

Napa gives a lifetime warranty or so Ive been told. Break it again, and exchange for another one.

 

There is a dude in Tahoe who is parting out trucks on here. He said he was gonna get another one. I picked up two oem cvs off him for $100

 

Took the truck out last night with some friends for a night run.
