I've been kicking around an idea to inset a "lazy Susan" type turn table into my welding table that sits flush but can raise up with a foot or hand actuated hydralic jack. It wouldn't need all that much throw to raise it enough to make it turn. Thinking of tapping in some threads for a small (4"-6") vise for when that need arises. Not something I'd use a lot but would make life easier on occasion.

Thinking of adding a power strip to this new build so I won’t have more than one extension cord along the floor

 

Those are worth the time and money. Nothing I hate worse than tripping over hoses and cords. When we wired in the boxes and lights to my area at work we put them about 4 1/2' up and put them on all 4 posts. They are all 4 square boxes so there's plenty to plug into and they are all on seperate circuits. The desk I have has power strips under the table top as well as the cabinet that sits on top and against the wall...it's probably 10" deep. But it gives me lots of room to plug in radio and DeWalt chargers, phone chargers and eventually a small printer and a laptop.
