    In progress.... And getting better!
No need to. The 1.04 rev1 is just for those of us that got the TSB update. The rest can get the TSB update from Mat when he releases 1.05.

Well I have spoke with Mat personally and he flat out said their 1.04 version for toyotas latest ecu version (04B04) releases today. 1.05 releases in a few weeks. He also mentioned that they do incorporate all of toyotas updates into their tunes.

And how do you get the latest ECU?

It’s very simple. If you’ve had the TSB and want your OVTune back, you flash 1.04R1.

If you don’t have the TSB and don’t want it, you stick with 1.04R0 and wait for 1.05.

You can’t use 1.04R1 if you don’t have the TSB. I’d be willing to bet you’d get an error message if you tried to flash R1 without having the TSB done.

I may be completely wrong, but I do know that Mat said that the TSB completey overhauls the way the 0s and 1s are calculated. You can’t expect 1.04R1 to function correctly if you haven’t had your ECU updated to read those 0s and 1s correctly.

Travis does this mean the 1.04R0 has the tsb enhancements already in the tune?

No. 1.04R0 was released long before the TSB came out.

1.04 for ECU 04B04 releases this evening.
I am sorry this is confusing everyone, to try to clear it up.

People who recently had this TSB have no tune. Their ECU version is 04B04. 1.04 TUNE releases tonight for that specific ECU version (which has Toyotas TSB changes)

Anyone who is NOT 04B04 ECU (did not get the TSB) do not have any updates right now.

When 1.05 release (TUNE version) this will have the TSB changes on every ECU VERSION that is out there, so even if you do NOT have the TSB done, you WILL get the TSB inside your tune when 1.05 releases.

so to recap, if you had the TSB done recently, you have no tune. We are releasing a tune for those guys today.

Just flashed to the new TSB and although it still races through 1 - 3rd pretty quickly it is a nice upgrade for toyota. If Matt could bring the smoothness of this TSB into 1.05, he would have a winner. I think 1.04 was a little too jerky for me and since i drive alot in the city 3rd gear held too high when just cruising around. I hoping for a cross of this TSB and matt's magic with shift points for 1.05.

Before 04B04 tune releases, here is some reading
    material regarding this latest update.

    Lets start with Throttle.
Toyota fixes the issue in a interesting way.
Now there are many more tables that are changed in 04B04, but here is a highlight

    Starting with Valve Timing
Toyota reduces valve advance on lower RPM and high throttle or higher loads. This likely is used to create smoother operation at the slight expense of available torque.
Image with circle is new ECU version

    vvt.jpg

next we have changes to Torque Models. The top image is the new TSB
This table softens transmission response for shifting (softer shifting). Moderate and low load areas have been changed to soften / smoothen shifting during normal (non full throttle) operation

    torque 1.jpg

    Next throttle tables.
This update changes some Throttle targets based on speed and gear. Now a few nice things toyota did was some smoothing and increasing of throttle targets (target angle) vs older ECU versions. However the problem areas are changed by either a large increase or large decrease based on very low accelerator angles, as you can see circled in red. So the throttle will just jump open more, or close more, if you're within that driving speed and gear (and accelerator angle)

Definitely a step in the right direction for Toyota. The smoothness in shifting is remarkable compared to what I have experienced in this truck. Throttle isn’t as fun as your calibration but at least a tap of the pedal actually equates to throttle now instead of the 25% dead feeling.

Also haven’t felt it bog a single time. Actually surprised how it can accelerate under moderate load and throttle while holding 6th without the TC locked (likely half lock?) and have yet to experience a jarring lock of the TC which has been present since I’ve owned the truck though your tune eradicated 90% of that.

Still early to tell but thus far it seems my low speed ignition instability has also been helped with the new TSB. Instead of getting 5-10 misfires per trip which I’ve gotten both stock and tuned I’m only seeing 0 to 3-4 so far.

Glad Toyota is finally helping you a bit so you can focus more on performance!
