Thank you. I kept getting confused as it seemed like everyone was ordering a different size bulb. Just curious, they low beam and high beam are seperate bulbs?

Ok, this is probably a dumb question but I'll ask. For the 05-11 model how does the harness handle going from a single bulb stock to 2 bulbs, one for low beam and the other for high? Is it like a "Y" pigtail?

If you look at the stock harness there's three wires. There's a positive for the high and low beam and then a single shared ground. From this it's pretty easy to light two separate bulbs.

I was one of the first handful of people to get and post about these. My first set lasted about a year and a few months. The motor for the high beam shroud had some issues and the clear coat started to fail. I contacted every company up to the direct manufacturer overseas. There is NO real warranty and eBay/PayPal etc will only cover you for 30-60 days.

Luckily I purchased them with an aftermarket warranty. They covered a replacement but I had to buy a new set first.

For my replacement set I purchased some twice a year UV proctection spray. If the UV fails on these I'll probably buy a set of vinyl decals to put over the top part of the lense. I did buy another after market warranty with the replacement lights though....

So I ended up getting a set of these for my 2015 from a good friend of mine for my birthday. Which hid kit is everyone running? I'm new to this whole hid/led light game and just need to be pointed in the right direction.

I've had mine for 6 months and haven't had any issues.
I'm using the DDM Tuning Ultra Canbus Kit 55 watt 5k bulbs. Super bright with a pure white light. Love them.

What's the difference between the 35w and 55w kits?

More light output. The 55 watt kit puts out an average of about 20% more might. And depending on what temp bulbs you get that output can make a big difference.

Gotcha. Are they plug and play or do you have to cut and splice the wires?

Plug and play. Depending on the kit you might need an extra wire harness. Even with that harness it’s still plug and play. Fairly easy to install

I've been looking at these. I think i've eased my concerns about condensation, as it seems most people don't have any issues with that on these housings. My OEM ones, are cracked/crazed (apparently from heat) and yellowed. So i was looking at these. I saw where some people had that slight cracking/crazing, can that be remedied with an LED bulb? I saw where that might void the warranty.

I don't care that much about maximum light output (like HID or anything like that), i just want to prolong these as much as i can. thoughts?

Just leave them stock if you don’t care about light output. They’ll be fine. I know there are a lot of companies that sell these headlights but if I can make a recommendation. I would order thru Tacoma Beast if you can. They offer a one year warranty. Not sure what the other companies offer like Pro Tunning Lab but that one year offers some pierce of mind versus 30 days.

Before and after. Spyder DRL tubes off of eBay for $215 shipped. Can't beat it and they look even better in person.

I'm going to go thru tacomabeast! That's where i found them first.

I'd just like to make sure that the bulb isn't putting out excessive heat, and i'd like to change the color hue to be more of a "whiter" color.
