Very nice. That obstacle has gotten super gnarly in the past few years.

Took a drive up Jones Pass w/ the dogs yesterday. Easy drive to get above tree line. I was going to head to Montezuma but got a late start w/ weather moving in so ended up here. This was my first time on Jones Pass. It's really nice.

We took the wife’s Jeep up Old Fall River road yesterday. It’s the first time she’s driven it “off road”. Not much to speak off for the road itself, but it was a gorgeous drive. We spotted a HUGE elk with a massive rack in the middle of the road, but it hopped in the woods before we could get a picture. Being late in the day on a Thursday, we saw 3 or 4 other cars on the road, so basically no traffic at all. There were even only a couple of cars parked at the Chasm Falls parking area, so we made the short hike down. Highly recommend taking some out of town guests up there for an easy drive. My sister and her husband are in town so that prompted the trip up to Estes. On the way back though town, there were some elk in the little grass park in the middle of town.

Joined my brother in law, a veteran 4 wheeler, his daughter and my nephew on a trip up to Red Cone. It was all Jeeps all the time. Virtually no Toyotas, and I was the lone Taco for all I know.

Gotta post a picture at the top or it didn't happen ...

… and one picture of a steep drop off. If you look closely, you'll see Mr. Goat. He says Hi to @Wishbone Runner and was sorry he missed him a week ago Friday.

    The colors are tremendous.

This last picture is for @Littles who, during our trip through Mammoth Gulch a couple of weeks ago, commented about how pristine my wheels still looked. Today, I finally picked a bad line over a big rock, slid off, and christened one. Just another battle scar.

Nice trail rash. Good attitude, don’t let it get to you

Red cone’s colors are amazing. That’s one of my favorite trails.

No radical hill? How did you come down and out?

As we came down Red Cone, I took a left down the south side of Webster Pass and back to Hwy 285.

Haven’t been out that way yet but it looks beautiful through the switch backs. I’m not in a rush to do radical hill again but I would like to squeeze in red cone this year.

It was beautiful. That part of trail had the narrowest sections where water run off eroded the down slope side of the trail. There was a place to have lunch near the bottom of the incline section. I'd go again.

Nice! Got back up there on Thursday, went up Deer Creek and came down Radical, saw a big pack below St Johns, from quite far away though.

Crushed Holy Cross today with @Squeaky Penguin @Night Eagle and @Reh5108 We all had to winch at least once to keep traffic moving as there were a bunch of folks on the trail, I feel confident we all would have made it unaided with a bit more time on each obstacle.

Ryan’s driver front tire in the air is my favorite.

I’m pretty sure his truck is indestreductible.

Sound familiar. Noticed this when I got home yesterday. :annoyed:

Blew up a front diff seal, and covered the bottom of my truck in diff oil. Hoping there's some left in the diff....

Looks like you're missing a friction pad in your spring or is that what thepicture is showing and not the diff leak?

Howdy, I'm considering making a run to Silverton/Ouray/Telluride. I've been wheeling around Lake City area since the early 90's, but always much earlier in the year. Black Bear and other trails in area still passible/open late sept? Any help appreciated!

Was trying to take a picture of the oil everywhere, but you're right, I'm missing a friction pad. Not sure how I lost that...
Oil seal would be fixed if they guy at Napa sold me the right part. :annoyed: Also found my couple month, 8k mile old LBJs have some play. :bananadead:

And one picture from my return route on Sunday as this in the trip report thread.
