    Nah, they use wheel straps usually on something like that. Sometimes they'll use tow points to lash to, but lashings on the frame tend to loosen up as the suspension cycles with the ship's motion. They wouldn't tie down using an opening like the one pictured because it would limit the direction you could run the strap. We do tight stows or loose stows depending on cargo volume. There's no way you could lash to that keyhole in a tight stow, the vehicles are parked too close together to walk between. Loose stow would be feasible, you can walk between the cars, but the lashers won't be looking for something that tucked away.

    Possibly, Ive seen quite a few of the flatbeds rolling west on I-64 and they definite use chains which is something of a rarity these days.

    My educated guess as well, either tooling holes to locate the frame rails in various assembly fixtures, or to hang screws when installing some optional part on a different trim level (we see this with window regulators).

    You might not be able to hail a traditional Uber ride in Colon, Michigan, but you can order up an “horse and buggy — and have a guaranteed memorable experience.

    Timothy Hochstedler of St. Joseph County has decided to use his traditional Amish horse and buggy as a ride service for area customers he’s calling “Amish Uber” in a local,
    slowed-down twist on the ubiquitous taxi app. It’s worth noting that Hochstedler isn’t officially affiliated with Uber in any way; he’s just calling his service “Amish Uber.”

    “Uber is a cool thing,” Hochstedler told local news station WWMT. “Every single year something new comes in and Uber is hot right now, so we have the Amish Uber. We can deliver people to their front door steps.”

    Customers seem pleased with their experience, too. “It was fascinating. It’s not an activity you typically associate with the Amish,” one rider told the news channel. He doesn’t have an app; you have to flag him down in person. And he’s only available on weekends. (For those looking for a similar experience outside of Michigan, a carriage ride like the ones you can pick up in New York City’s Central Park should do the trick, although there’s a chance it will cost you more than the $5 Hochstedler charges.)

    I took a course on Hazardous Materials a few years ago. It was a real eye opener, on what is traveling on the roads these days.

    I keep a few apps on my phone, just in case I run across something and need to know how far to keep clear.
