    On the subject of tires... If you're looking for a cheap A/T, consider the Laufenn X-Fit A/Ts. I run them on my truck and have been very happy with them. Paid $400 mounted and balanced. They're basically Hankooks cheaper version of the Dynapros.

    my mickey's are pretty quiet to consider its a heavy mud tire. though i wouldn't mind trying a set of montes tires but in a e rating

    They're plenty tough in the D rating he has, I don't think you need them to support more weight than he does

    The 3.5 V6 in those feels peppier than in an certain Toyota that comes to mind

    oh I thought they got the same goofy 3.5 that was in the tracker, that motor was way ahead of its time

    That motor is a real performer and Chevy would have done well to keep licensing it from Isuzu and throw it in a couple light trucks/SUVs, Honda (passport) didn't really need tips on how to build a v6 that could perform so it makes sense that they didn't adopt it

    Had one of those a few years back, a 2002 3.2 5-speed. Let's just say Isuzu didn't build those to the same quality of Toyota...

    Isuzu and Chevy's partnership really makes sense, they are both very similar in home territories. Both major utility brands that don't do a whole bunch of extra frills and generally perform solid

    I like both, the tracker motor would have the 5vz for lunch in terms of overall power and torque, but the 5vz is plenty reliable and parts are cheaper and more plentiful for it

    My buddy had a 1991 Isuzu pickup with a GM 3.1 60° v6. That thing was a blast. It was it 3 accidents and was rolled 2 times and the sob kept running. No frills at all, but it was reliable for what it was.

    so its a give and take. 5vz lasts forever and cheaper to maintain and the chevy more power but breaks more often and is expensive to fix

    I wouldn't necessarily say that, the 3.5 isn't gonna be leaving you stranded often it is very reliable as well. But being an early direct injection vehicle you have long term failures like the high pressure fuel pump and it isn't exactly easy to get to or replace the high pressure injectors. But that said they don't fail often either.
