What's the largest tire size I can run? Don't want to do any trimming or cutting.

    '03 DC TRD 4WD 3" lift
    Soon-to-have-rims: 17x9/-12 OS/4.53" BS

Currently have 16x8/0 OS/4.0" BS with about 7.5" clearance from top of tire to underneath wheelwell/fender flare.

Does the pinch weld mod fall under the don’t want to do category?

Ah yes The age old question. Depends on your lift also. If you have 883s it possibly won't rub since they are stiffer. But if you have stock springs and spacers, you willbe trimming with 265/75s. Alignment also plays a factor

RCD/Billie's Front and Rear with OME 883's and HS Progressive AAL Resulting in 3"+ Lift. No weight up front...yet.

I ran 265/75/16 on stock suspension on my 04 with no issues, looked perfect.

It doesn't depend on lift unless you are a drop bracket lift or body lift. A lift will only increase clearance if you never hit speedbumps/articulate the suspension. Just an fyi for the OP since he doesn't want to trim

So soft springs that articulate well and flex all the way to the bump stops rub the same as stiff springs that don't move that makes perfect sense

Don't know about the 17's, I personally prefer 16s on a 1st gen. My last 3 sets of wheels were all 16x8. 4.0 BS is perfect for me, 285/75r16 with 3" lift & no rubbing, cutting, or pinch weld mod. Well on full lock I get minor rubbing on the frame depening on how knobby the tires are. And of course some rubbing off road but never on the street.

I have 650 lb/in (883s are 590lb) springs on my coilovers and still hit my bump stops. On the street yes you probably could be okay I just dont want the OP to go offroad etc and be surprised about rubbing

OP, here's a description of what goes on when you change wheel/tire size on our trucks, and what "work" you have to do for various tire sizes:
