    Went from 3rd Gen Taco to 3GT4R to 2nd Gen Taco and finally a V8 4GT4R.

    Is that black shield thingy on the T-case necessary? Or would I be able to take it off. Asking for a friend...

    It's a skid plate to protect your tcase from the rocks.

    Trying to get motivated to do my inner tie rod ends... but that involves removing the skid plates. That's that, so much pain in the ass.

    From what I see the skid covers the front and the part your talking about covers the back section I've got one on my 1st Gen that only covers the rear lower section of the case, if you don't off road the truck I don't see why you couldn't but I'd leave it on if it was my truck

    On my truck it covers the tcase completely this was just a pic I found online showing the shield.

    Diff breather re-locate complete.

    Rear diff breather run up to high point in engine compartment. Will splice into the hose to add the front diff breather (when I actually have a front diff...lol)
