I'm pretty sure that would make you run slower....high octane racing fuel requires a higher compression to ignite. The stock supercharger is designed for 91-93 octane but if you changed the setup for more boost you might be able to get away with higher octane...if I understand it correctly.

Idk I'm still reading up on it. Back then I was just like oh it needs 91 and I could afford it but I had fun with the 87 with racing fuel

I guess you could add a gallyon of 110 octane to 14 gallons of 87 and end up with 91 our around there...not sure if it would work that way though or be financially practical lol. Maybe I'll try it one day if I can be assured it won't hurt anything.

I'm thinking you fuckers could start your own thread when some if these random thoughts pop into your head.

Geezus! What a bunch of word vomit!

Go ahead and tag me when something even remotely has to do with Toyota Tacomas is posted.

I'm not bitter, just have a limited amount of time and no time to read thru 10-20 pages of bull shit.

Sorry, Zane, but I gotta unsub. This thread has gone too stupid for me.

@eon_blue I wouldn't worry about having too high of an octane really. It helps a lot because you can keep driving the timing up which counteracts the slow burn issue and you get more power. The meth kits raise the effective octane to around 126 when they're spraying full load (they're progressive based on flow or boost pressure)

This is why I continually tell people to just skip to the last page or last two pages rather than read it all. I ghost most of it too when I miss a bit

Gotcha yeah I was wondering how methanol played into this seeing as how it raises the octane so much and works like a charm.

Same here. I don't even sub to this thread because otherwise my notifications blow up...this thread is so active it's almost always on the main page anyway so I just check it regularly that way.

I'm going to add that to the OP...

Also yeah methanol is magic, NA engines with average compression like ours don't need much octane to do their best. But with boost they really need the help keeping the knock down, even at 1-2 psi.
