Well I walked right into that one

 

Dayum. Was under the truck spraying some fluid film and noticed my ebrake cables on both sides are rubbing against my dakars. Thinking about wrapping that part with a padding of duct tape, but does anyone have a more eloquent solution?

 

Chunk of an old radiator hose, or more protection abrasive resistant sleeves like what's on some wiring harnesses.

 

Slightly larger rubber fuel hose?

A bunch of eloquently placed zip ties

 

cut across a pvc pipe (removing 1/2 to 1/3) and slip it over the line, then tie wrap in place.

 

I got curious about this mod and took a look at my 2015 spare tire hoist. Guess it had never been dropped so took some effort to break free but the bar seating fairly easily. Receiver for the bar/hook are a little different than yours. Nice mod idea though.

 

You having any issues running your rear shocks without boots? I’ve heard you need them and I’ve heard you don’t. Getting ready to replace mine with some 5100’s.

 

Wasn’t sure if o would like it. Turned out pretty cool. Metal letters came off my BPF grille.

 

A well placed large spring will do the trick to pull the line away from the leaf spring. And, as previously noted, a rubber hose that does quite fit all the way around the cable will serve as protection as well.

No issues at all and the boots have been off for about a year now. I try to keep them clean though.
