An easy way to know is by paying attention to the throttle response.

The old factory tune had a big deadspot when pressing the accelerator, the new one doesn't. Other changes like smoother shifting are very noticeable, but where you not paying attention to how it drove before?

Try Autonation in Ft. Myers. I don't understand why they act like this. They end up charging Toyota anyway.

Sorry messed above reply: Question my dealer did the tsb said it was applied to the engine. Since engine flash would that not also effect the performance of the ECT mode?

This is a perfect example of when you call Toyota Corporate and complain.

It has changed, it has a very slightly better throttle response and holds gears longer but I feel stock is great for most situations and ECT isn't needed like it used to.

Thanks interesting I tried both on a test and now feel only a slight very slight low end advantage to ECT. So you validated that appreciate it Seems they have effectively almost matched ECT with standard mode

I'm about 1,600 miles away from my 20K service. I'll have them apply this TSB at that point. Looking forward to it.

Anyone try using the ECT button after the update? Does the update negate the use of ECT?

Why would Toyota “negate” the functionality of a switch that comes standard on the truck?

Sounds kind of like this update makes the truck drive a little like ECT is on all the time.. wondering if ECT button did much more after the update was in place.

So I had TSB 62-18 applied on Friday and for the most part the truck does seem to shift better and I don't get that bogged down feeling. However, I do now have a slight hesitation when accelerating at around 1500 RPMs. I know that most people seem to think that TSB 62-18 and 58-18 accomplish the same thing but with the issue I'm having at 1500 RPMs I'm thinking about trying to have 58-18 applied as well to see if that it corrects the new issue.

I assume you mean 62-18? If so, one is for 16-17s and one is for 18s. You can’t get both.

Yes, 62-18. But they both apply to 2016-2018. Several folks have received both.
