Got some trail damage that happened awhile back when I crossed a DEEP stream crossing that had water to the hood and big hidden obstacles .

At this point the front bumper cap and the black pedestrian device no longer are present on my truck.

Soooo...a plate bumper is the obvious answer, but it's not in the budget at the moment (It's already hunting season here in Nevada so all spare funds are tied up until the first of the year).

So my question to you all is what cheaper options are there besides a full plate bumper? Id like to stay under 500 if possible.:spending:

Save up $1300, and buy yourself a color matched ARB off road bumper. Those things look insanely beautiful.

Good question. I had not even thought about going the insurance route.

I'm not sure I'm a fan of the ARB offering. Seems like it sticks out too far. Need to see one in person.

Did you only pull off that plastic insert? If so I doubt it’s much to replace that. Will be cheaper than your insurance deductible

Good call. OP...it might be worth posting a WTB/ISO out here to folks who have replaced it with the hybrid offerings. Somebody might have one just laying around.

Yeah the outer piece is ruined, but the inner piece is fine. I just removed it because it was loose and rattling without the cap.

This is actually a really good idea. I will see what Toyota charges and then see if I can buy one here from someone who replaced their bumper. Why did I not think of this...:anonymous:

    Mega overbite

Exactly what i think of when I see those full ARB bumpers. Anything short of a mad Max scene and/or a 50cal couldn't make those things look good to me.

Or if you want a hold over fix that won’t look horrible but better than leaving it how it is, get a sheet of wire mesh and a can of black spray paint. Bend the mesh to match the contour and fasten it with some bolts or something. Might be a little ghetto but probably won’t be that bad if you take your time. Could even take the left over paint and hit that grill and surround why your at it
