Took truck to firestone for oil change and have them check alignment ( have their lifetime) they recommended new front brakes which i knew i needed but they wont do the work because i have wheel spacers. Is this typical?

Brakes are easy to do yourself. They will avoid anything that risks more liability if something goes wrong. They also suck at alignments and jacked mine all up in a bad way and I had to have Tandem fix it. I have lifetime with firestone and will only go back if I have no other choice.

I've got my money out of it so I'm not upset with my lifetime purchase. They just did a really bad job last time and its made me not want to go back. It could have ended way worse had I not taken it to Tandem and been shown the mistakes that they made. They may be able to do better now that Tandem has got it set well.

Doing brakes on a tacoma is easy. Do it at home and save 300 bucks

It's all about the location. I always ask how long the tech working that day has done alignments. The one on 377 in Watauga is good.

If you go buy the stuff and bring beer, we can do it in my garage tonight. For you dirty minded folks, "it" is the brake job. There will be no other "doing it" in my garage tonight.

Although, my wife is out of town. It's a shake you aren't having that meet up tonight.

They already do free alignments(1st hr is free, charge you for time after that) for TTR members after attending a TTR sponsored offroad event.

Why would an alignment take more than an hour?

My wife and son are going to Iceland for a week soon. I’ll probably be learning how to do brakes (and I want to do the diff fluid change as well). Getting a vibration while braking.

My wife’s outback’s brakes and suspension need changing, but I don’t touch her car, because the stakes are too high there.

Would anyone be interested in (5) 295/70/17 General Grabbers?

All have discount tire certs, one does not have TPMS as it is the full size spare but it is one of the newer tires, two tires will be pretty much brand new as well, the others are wheeled on, but plenty of tread left on them.

I can even bring them to DFW more than likely... but I have decided to try and step up to 35s if I can find a good deal on some 35s and then will have these for sale at some point.

Not sure on price, will need to check tread and everything and see approx cost and so forth... but they will be priced good.
