Good for you. Most won't sell unless you own a Pro. Do a search.

    BS, lets see the threads

    Stop spreading lies.

Don’t tell people to do a search when you are blantantly wrong. There are thousands of aftermarket Pro gills purchased from dealers....

Toyota makes all Pro products as accessories to make money.

Limited supply, at the moment, according to the dealer.

    That is a great story.

You sure they didn't look at you like that because you pulled up in a pro, asking for trails, and checking out their "$30k" in mods ( which is how much they cost because you looked them up ).

    Yeah. What mall crawlers.

I don’t care what ppl do with their money, but I do think they should be informed.

Rough numbers to build a Pro yourself, starting with a TRD Off Road:

    Wheels $800
    Grill $500
    Hood w skewp, painted $1000
    Color matched rear bumper $500
    Suspension $1500
    Katzkin Leather $1500
    Headlights ?
    Badges ?
    More?
    Subtotal: $5800
Then add taxes and install, or sell the original takeoffs to offset that cost.

Now go to toyota.com and actually price out an OR DCSB with 4x4 auto and Premium Package. Comes out to $39,985 for me.

Then price out a Pro: $42,765.

    That’s $2780 difference.

So yeah you can do Pro suspension and maybe a grill, but no way you’re building a full Pro for less than MSRP.

But why would you base that off a premium price? An OR starts at $32k.

If you want a carbon copy of a pro, you might as well go for a pro. In the spirit of the topic title " is the pro worth it", my context is I think you can build something better than the pro, for less, to be more clear.

Little off I paid $365 for the Pro grill from a dealer and was quoted $500for the hood.

You are also forgetting that if someone was to build a Pro they can sell the old parts. Case and point, I sold both my shift knob and my OR grill and got $200 for the grill so the Pro grill only cost me $165. You can get clazzios for $500. The hood is a wash and can swap free in the hood swapping thread. The wheels are a wash, I sold mine for $800. Only cost is suspension but can get better aftermarket options. I paid $36,500 for my OR so plenty of room.

The bulk of that is bullshit cosmetics anyway.

Because comparing a 2 door 4x2 OR doesn’t work. An OR DCSB 4x4 with the tech & interior of a Pro starts at $38k.

But you can talk an OR way down. Not talking a Pro down much

You won’t be able to haggle a Pro like you can a loaded DCSB 4x4 OR. I got mine for over 4K under MSRP.

I would have considered a pro if they tossed in a supercharger like the old trd off roads from 2003

Who's comparing a 2 door OR? You're already doing the clazio heated seats. Genuine questions. What's the difference in the tech pacakge from the OR to premium besides leather heated seats?

"Both vehicles have convenient technology like a Smart Key System on the driver door and a Push Button Start. Both the Pro and the Off-Road give you the Entune Premium Audio with Integrated Navigation and App Suite as well as a touchscreen display with smartphone connectivity. Also, the leather-trimmed steering wheel with audio and Bluetooth controls can be found in both trucks"

4 door DCSB OR 2017 New $32,60 OTD

Right. But price point wise you can't start at the sr or sr5 because there's no locker or A-trac.

Regardless I'm just saying those numbers are off if you start with a base off road.

Again, my point was that for less you can build a more capable truck with luxary if you're willing to put the work in and it's what you want to do. I've already stated way back in this thread many times that there is a specific person who this truck is a good fit for.

all I know is my or is perfect. I just can't wait to get a lift and maybe different rims. Because I'm picky. Not because I need to haha

Looking at MSRP on 4x4s. I only see 2x4s and Access Cabs for that kind of money.

Looking at the shopping list above, it’s a long shot that you could do both the capability and luxury of a Pro unless all the stars align for you. Actually finding a scoop hood to swap, selling your takeoff parts for good money, etc - I mean it’s possible if you do all the labor but still, it’s a LOT of work and still a gamble that you might save a few bucks.

Both are great vehicles. As I'll say for about the 5th time in this thread. There are two schools of people. Those who want to have a really nice stock truck from the factory that got more luxary (at least for 16-17 apparently) and the fox ride and smoked trim bits and scoop, and which some of are concerned about resale.

The other wants more weight, more lift, or a more capable off road vehicle for less money overall, and who the majority really don't give a care at all for resale value ( or mpg ).

So it's just a matter of a person to person basis. But by the time I add the front bumper, winch, sliders and base high clearance rear bumper I'll just be catching up to the cost of a pro. And that's the addressing the "is it worth it" question in the title of this thread.

The OR has the same Heated Leather Seats that the Sport does, I don't even think you can get Cloth Heated Seats in the 2018s.
