Cool, you could also wash the inside of the wheel before you go, then wipe it yourself when you get there for piece of mind. Can you tell I am a little OCD? Ok, a lot...........

Welp I was gonna wait on a second opinion but the damn weights fell off today! Just pulling out of the parking lot from work I hear a tapping sound. I pull over and check the wheels and one of the weights wedged itself between the rotor and wheel. There's now a small gouge on the inside of the wheel. I go over and look at the other side and the weight shifted to the middle of the wheel contacting the caliper each time it went by. Luckily the weight took most of the hit and the claiper was fine.

I ripped off the weights and drove to the discount tire where I had it done. Showed them what happened and they re-balanced all the wheels. Now it went from 15+ weights on each wheel to 5 or 6. Even the counter guy admitted who ever did it was being lazy.

    o_O :annoyed:

Are they buying you a new wheel?

Did you tell them you are a member of a forum that has over 200k members and you are sure most of them will be glad to spread the word about this experience once they find out? :drevil:

Glad you got it resolved but damn!!!! Did they offer any explanation as to why the weights were falling off?

That's ridiculous. I suggest finding an actual shop for your future needs.

After looking at it a little closer it was just a surface scratch that I could just wipe away with my finger which wasn't bad as it first appeared. I didn't make too much of a fuss because I had 4 sets of tires replaced at this location before with my other cars. So far they have done good work for me with no problems so i'm just taking this as a fluke. They got my car on the lift as soon as a bay was opened even though they had several customers in front of me. I got what I needed in a timely manner and was on my way.

I didn't get much of a explanation why the weights fell off other than the tech was lazy and stacked them. Which I saw none of from the pictures I snapped before they fell off. It was most likely an unclean surface for the adhesive to grasp on. Although they did explain to me that one tire was still an issue having a high side and still needed 10 weights to balance. Everything kinda worked out so i'm just "meh" about the whole situation now.

As long as you're not just settling because you're caught up in the excitement of the new wheels and tires and are genuinely happy, then nothing else matters.

Glad you got the satisfaction you wanted, and paid for.

Matte Dark Bronze, and thanks for the Wow! I still love it every time I see them, never gets old - and the offset helps as well, just enough to give it a more aggressive look. Love the SCS wheels, worth the wait!
