Yeah I would agree that something seems off. Can anyone else chime in with 881's on what they have for a hub to fender measurement? Maybe I got 880's on accident somehow

You can count the number of coil wraps to know exactly which coils you have.

I counted 10 coils. Couldn't find anything online definitively stating what that means. Could someone layout the differences in number of coils for myself and anyone else who may stumble upon this in the future

You have a double cab, v6 4x4 I assume? That's a lot of front end weight which is why the 881s didn't give you much lift. 4cyl, access cabs and 4x2s get more front end height out of them.

I did some looking around. It looks like just the 882s have any extra coil wrap from what could find. I could still be wrong though.

Nice pointing that out. I hadn’t noticed the truck is a d-cab. That’s probably why the front is lower. Iirc, it’s usually recommended to go with 882 springs on 4wd d-cabs

@eon_blue and @boostedka he's got it listed as a double cab but the first post pics are an extra cab.

Here's my rake after install with 880s and dakars on my single cab, left me in a similar situation:

It's definitely settling down after a few offroading trips, but I plan on loosening and re-torquing pretty much everything with the wheels on the ground.

MY* Truck is an extended cab V6 4x4 M/T TRD. Is there really any more weight in the front end of the double cab?

I think it’s a couple hundred pounds difference in the overall vehicle weight

Years back on a ‘99 tacoma I had, I installed 882’s with Wheelers 5 pack leaf springs (1.5” Lift). This sat me almost perfectly level. This was an ext cab,V6, 4wd with no added weight other than TG sliders. It rode nice I thought, just a little firm in the rear.

pre and post measurements would have been ideal (though not many actually do it). this is a "lift kit" that will lift "over stock" not "already worn out springs" so what you are seeing is correct. the rear will sag more and sooner than the fronts ever will.

this will just make the rear sag more and faster. the Dakar leaf pack is "standard" weight replacement springs with 2.5" of lift over stock

add some sand bags or carry something in the back for a month or two. this will help cycle the springs and flatten them out. 881s are designed for no added weight. if you want a bumper, get 883s. my fronts have settled a total of about .5-.75 inch in 3 years. I'm still sitting over 2" higher than stock.

Loosened the suspension nuts and bolts and re-torqued with the rear end under load. Hub to fender measurement was now 24.5"

Picked up 6 60 lb. bags of sand ($3.75 ea.) so I have 360 lbs. in the bed to help settle in the rear leaves

Wouldn’t worry about getting the back down in a hurry. Time is on your side here. How’s the front doing? Did you figure out the lack of lift there?

What was it before? I missed your pre re-do hub to fender somehow? IE, how much did that lower? Even if not much, it relieved the bind on the bushings which would shorten their lives.

Also, when the rear goes down, the front normally rises a bit 'naturally'. Did you remeasure the front to see if it changed? Did you loosed/retorque the front as well?

Agree with not having the need to haul sandbags. Let the springs work naturally for a while. Not that you are hurting anything. Other than MPG.

I have not loosened/re-torqued the front suspension, I plan on getting around to it. The rear was at 25" and after re-torquing with the suspension under load moved to 24.5".

Currently I have 360 lbs. of sand in the bed and measure in at: rear 23", front 23" (from 22.5"). I will be removing the sand next week when I'm home

As far as I can tell there are no issues with the front, it is just a product of the 881's. I don't have a stock hub to fender measurement to compare against. Also tried searching to see where others measured at with no success (ext cab, v6, 4x4 w/ 881's and stock bumpers)

From here I am thinking I will go with a 1/2" top plate spacer and get it re-aligned. If anyone has any input on what could be the cause of the front end only measuring 22.5" or has measurements from their own lift please feel free to share

Keep in mind that if you are trying to level, you only add 1/2 of the F-R delta.

As of this morning i had 3" of rake (front hub to fender 22.75", rear hub to fender 25.75")
I received a brand new set of OME 881's from ARB. I pulled the struts off of the truck and removed the spring from the assembly. When comparing the installed spring vs. the brand new 881 they look to be identical. This leads me to believe 881's plus dakar leaf pack = 3" of rake on MY truck.

I would like to get the truck within an 1" of rake without removing any of the rear leafs (don't want to sacrifice ground clearance). Are 882's my best option? That spring being only 20mm longer than the 881 doesn't get me to my goal. Looking for suggestions!

I have an 03 AC V6 4x4. I put 881s w/bilstein 5100s and the Dakar leaf pack with an add-a-leaf in. This left me with an insane amount of rake as well. I also over torqued the rear springs at first, but even after fixing that, it didn't level my truck. I had to adjust the front shocks to the middle setting on the Bilsteins, which worked pretty well. Visually there's no rake left. This uses spring preload to raise the front end. In theory it should result in a more stiff ride, but I didn't notice a difference.

If I were you, I'd go with different shocks instead of different springs. That's just me.

FWIW here are my measurements from center of hub to bottom of fender flare pre and post lift (1000 miles after install).

881s, Dakar leafs, nitrosports all around. I have a V6 and stock bumpers, skids, etc. The only difference is that I have a topper on the bed.

One thing I recommend is to drive around with some weight in the bed at all times. The ride with an empty bed is a bit stiff. With weight in the back it rides so much nicer.

And one thing of note about the pre lift measurements: My suspension was completely shot.

    Before:

    Driver Front: 20 7/8"
    Driver Rear: 20 1/4"
    Passenger Front: 20 3/4"
    Passenger Rear: 20 1/4"

    After (1000 miles of driving):

    Driver Front: 22 3/4"
    Driver Rear: 24"
    Passenger Front: 22 7/8"
    Passenger Rear: 24"
