I did my whole lift and leafs in less than 3 beers. And I've also rallied the hell out of it for 100's legit middle of no where miles. The install isn't bad. Basic wrench skills will do.

And the scoop will always be the hang up point in cost. No argument there. Only solution for that is to wait for a swap or eat the cost. Which is why I said if you're going for a straight carbon copy just go with the pro and expanded on what my context was in the last post

Yeah, we’re on the same page. It’s just ppl that keep saying “I can build a Pro for way less” they’re in for a surprise. But if you want to build something as or more capable, something similar but not exact, that can definitely happen.

    Agreed.

And the only thing the pro has up on the OR is the ram air intake for performance and mpg which isn't real ;)

The only thing it's good for is stuffing kazoos in haha jk

Being perfect and making it more capable are two different things. Many Pro owners are pawning their parts off on here and other places because they know they will sell just to buy better parts to increase capability.

    Working on them
I hope it is a good deal if it is the one I see they have listed (Super White) they have it listed at 4K over MSRP and it is actually very Bare bone on Options - Go to < https://www.toyota.com/owners/vehicle-specification > copy and paste the full VIN number and you will see everything that they do not tell you. If you Are not in a big Hurry Contact Wade Toyota in St. George and work with them They are a true High Volume Sales Dealer that sells a very high percentage Below MSRP. The Salesman Brian Gates Worked with me and to be honest I HATE auto SALESMEN and I actually Respect this guy and how he handled everything well.

I am not knocking Karl Malone Down it is Just that they are a Small Dealer with low Volume Sales so it is hard for them to cut good deals.

Here is what is listed for that TRD Pro

    • FE 50 State Emissions - Factory
    • TG D - Rings - Port
    • TR TRD PRO Package - Factory
    • 2T All-Weather Flr Liner/Door Sill Protector - Port
    • Order Date - 06 - 2018

Don't forget the repaint if you want the exclusive paint for the same model year as the dealer built Pro.

Personally I like the 2nd gen Pro over the 3rd gen Pro.

If someone pays extra for that goofy smurf blue color they deserve to get screwed at paint payment time. Not a color I would consider on anything. To each their own.

    I'd like to see a SR, or SR-5 4cyl manual with a factory-locker, possibly A-track, and no infotainment do-dads.

Just a truck that is great base to build from.

That's it, but I'm only paying 1000 over MSRP. I'm hoping to sell my 2017 before, but otherwise I'll drive it up there and trade. Finding white TRD Pros with MT is rare as hen's teeth. It was built July 27 and will arrive at Karl Malone about August 12. Bare bones is what I wanted, and MT.

The service manager at my local dealer, that sells Pros at 6000 over msrp, but has good service told me that Toyota is sending an additional Pro to many dealerships at the end of the 2018 production for reasons unknown.

You're right about Malone. They used to be down here in ABQ, but Malone sold it to Larry Miller and moved up to Salt Lake. He was fair back then, more so than Larry Miller.

    Thanks

That was my experience (see my list of mods below). Those mods including those like a homelink mirror ended up costing $5000, and I got the $1000 Bilstein Baja suspension rather than the $3000 Fox suspension (ppl will get all over that). That cost mainly doesn't include labor, and since I had just fractured my shoulder, some I couldn't do. It's true that the tonneau cover is not stock on the Pro. And it's still an auto, and I really don't like that trans. I got it because I wanted an ACC. Mistake on my part. I'm now selling it and have a deposit on at Pro MT (yes it's 1000 over MSRP). I should have opted for that in the first place. But all I'll add is the RCI sliders I just took off my OR, and that's paid for.

Actually perfect and more capable are 2 different things. More capable would mean just what it says but not necessarily perfect. But perfect implies needing nothing else. Not sure how a vehicle would be “ perfect “ but still need a “ lift and rims. “.

I hear you but we can agree to disagree. By the way, tell that to all your Pro buds selling off there parts like crackhoes to improve their capability!!!

You’re not listening, you’re changing the argument now. I never said you couldn’t make a Pro more capable or perfect. Far from it. I said that YOU already have a “ perfect “ truck but still want a “ lift and rims “. Doesn’t sound so perfect if you want to or are considering doing that stuff. My Pro is perfect for me regardless of what my “ Pro Buddies “ are doing with their Pro parts because I don’t feel the need to change out anything.

By the way bud, you are referring to the wrong member. I’m not the one that you initially quoted. I just explained the rationale behind getting stuff for your truck. Your truck can be perfect and need items as your progress. He said it’s perfect now. Not always and forever. Be realistic.

But mine IS perfect with my Pro grille :) since we are on the subject.
