Growing up near the San Andreas fault has numbed me to earth quakes. Same with fires, they happen so often here in the West that I don't fear them like I do Tornados or Flash Floods.

in case some of you are curious about this whole situation, my boss came to me asking me about the situation (suprisingly quite calm about it) I was in the chemical room when he radioed me. and I told my team "let's have an early break I'm going to the principal's office" which means take a break till I get back. I explained the situation and then found out that the team leader I fired was my boss's nephew. I was in my authority to do what I did and asked why was he made a team leader. When I heard he was his nephew I got stern saying that wasn't a smart move playing favoritism and handing an important job like to some one who doesn't care. I've seen the texts his nephew sent and it makes me feel sorry for humanity on how he acted like a spoiled child.

If the boss has an attitude, you tell him that he should be thankful you noticed and pulled his pathetic azz out of there before..

Also, wtf @BartMaster1234 - why do I always miss these and not see them until its too late? I'm sure those seats and steering wheel are LONG GONE after being up there for 12 days on CL

Yea, cause osha and H.R would have a hay day. The new guy has the option to not come in today if he feels like he needs it. I want him back at 100% before he comes back to work.

Gotta tread lightly in those situations but I feel your pain. The company I work for is rather...incestuous...shall we say...as far as the higher ups are concerned. They might act like they hate one another but at the end of the day, they will have each other's back over yours and when push comes to shove you might end up getting the short end of the stick. That's a tough scenario to be in.

Thankfully I'm considered as a higher up cause of my record and skills. Only thing holding me back is my team. I don't want just some random guy watching over them. I worked my way up the ladder to get where I'm at now. And I always put my guys in front of numbers.

I prefer steel just for its weld-ability, and cost.

You'd still need gussets with the 1/4" alumunum on something like a trany plate. Also, if you bend steel, you can just bend it back. Aluminum doesn't like to be bent.
